Playing the Music

First off, if one of the moderators thinks this should be in a different forum feel don't think twice about moving it.

Ok. I play the button accordion, Irish trad, mostly but I have recently been playing around with some of the Pogues's songs on the old squeezebox. First I got "Kitty" then the intro to "IISFFGWG" and then a bit of "Streams of Whiskey." Anybody have some suggesting of other Pogues songs I should try?

Also, I occasionally record myself with a program that came with my computer to hear how I'm sounding. I've been wondering if it would be possible to record, say, the accordion track for "Kitty," post it here then have one you all download it and record the vocal track over, post it up here again, have another record the guitar track and so on. Is that feasible? Probably not but it would be kind of neat, I think. Maybe it would be a copyright infringement too- I don't know.

There us no copyright infringement as long as you don't offer it for sale, something we could do without at a time when he have a contract out on the "Pop Idol" winner. In any event, "Kitty" is traditional, anyone can record it.

I think your idea is feasible but you may need to run a SMPTE code or something to make sure all the technology is running consistently as the files move around.

Philipchevron: How is it with covering songs with rewriting them? Because in our band we changed lyrics of IFI to sound our way+we use the music theme. Can we play it on public? We never did yet, but maybe we would like to do so in future, so I am asking.

Not to worry, you'll have nothing but support from me! But in effort to nail the #1 slot it could be beneficial to figure out which vendors American fans ought to purchase the single from in order to influence sale figures.

Now I'll have to make the difficult decision to pay for a cross-country flight for the Boston concert or wait for "another time."

That said, I can think of worse decisions one would have to make.
