I knew it!! Great show tonight, great band, great crowd. Mr Chevron, excellent performance of Thousands are Sailing, we loved it. Shane was great, Spider was amazing, he even broke the guitar. James was brilliant. Whole band was wonderful. Thank you for coming to Zagreb.

Zagreb

Post Fri Jul 15, 2011 6:57 am

Hi all,

the show in Zagreb was simply amazing! From the previous posts I gathered that all the boys are in top form, and now I can say it's really true. I saw Shane once with the Popes in Zagreb in 1998, and that was a bit meh - no offense to those guys, but I guess it wasn't the best time for Shane. But yesterday's show...a different matter altogether! All the boys smiling and dancing around, the sound was great (except for some whistle and accordion passages which seemed somewhat overblown - I guess they were too much for the sound system), the audience lively, and Shane's voice...well, what can I say. I always loved his voice, but to hear in person how well it has matured, that was phenomenal! He is indeed the growling snarling warrior poet from hell we all know and love, able to relate and invoke all kinds of emotion, and giving it all he's got.

So, a big fat Thank you Pogues for finally coming to Zagreb, and I'd like to think of you returning when you can!

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah!!!!!!

The whole concert was just amazing!!! I had a great time yesterday and the band made the place even hotter!!! Great performance indeed!!! You make me wanna go to Greenwich too!!

(I just had a problem with a security guard that was standing in the VIP section and didn't want to move, not one step left, so I could at least see some of the band on stage... :( )
Finally found a place they could never reach...

The Pogues,

Many thanks for yesterday's gig. This is a concert that I'll remember to the end of my live.

I can't really compare the two gigs. Each was unique and special in its own way, I mean, the band itself was nothing less than perfect, I think that they enjoyed it as much as the crowd did... I absolutely loved both of the concerts and won't ever forget them. Probably the only difference was in the set-list, and the security people...

oh...German beer is better
