<It was only later that I remembered there is no "West River", there's only the East River and the Hudson.>

As the Encyclopedia of New York City notes, in the southern end the Hudson is known as the North River. Your name for it had the benefit of being geographically apt as well as memorable and funny.

Yes I got the sycophancy memo.

Have a great show everyone! My wife tells me the St. Jimmy Day madness is already under way as reflected by motor traffic on the Upper East Side. Cops are parked perpendicular on the avenues, side streets are blocked, and no doubt the trains are filled with folks who started early and I don't mean commuting.

God save the Pogues!

Phro37, Jane, James Fearnley, Carmen, and NewJerseyRich. We were having a chat about 'laundry'. James had commented that one of us smelled like clean laundry. I know it wasn't me, as I smelled of beer, street food, and sweat! Anyway, finally he concluded that "we were a well laundered bunch"....

ahhh yes, I often wish we had the old 'like' button on here. Carmen had very nice things to say about you :D
She's a lot of fun. Very upbeat. I 'like' that.

She's always fun to be around. As for the nice things to say, she was probably drunk.

I used the 70-200mm f2.8 for first two songs, and then the 50mm f1.4 for the last song. ISO was cranked up to 3200. [/end camera speak]

Well just got back from New York about five hours ago and had an absolute ball. What a fantastic night we had on Tuesday and would like to give a big thanks to Phil for everything. You really made the trip even more special than it already was. We were moved hotel from Hotel 3030 to the Milford Plaza. Slightly dodgy hotel but it was clean and we were hardly in it to be honest. The gig goes down as one of the best ive seen however unfortunatley we had to miss the last two songs as we had been awake for 35 hours and my partner was falling asleep at our table. The band was excellent and although I felt that some of the crowd were expecting Shane to be a mess he blew everyone away with a performance, that with the exception of a couple of one offs, normally puts in.
