An excellent show. I loved hearing Boat Train and The Band Played Waltzing Matilda, but the highlight for me was Body of an American. The crowd really found their voices to sing "I'm a free born man of the USA."
Thanks to Mr. C, I received an aftershow pass and got to speak briefly to Spider, which was a treat (we commiserated about Arsenal getting crushed by Barcelona earlier in the day). Also met Eric V and mrdarcey (and a good luck to mrdarcey, who saw the Pogues in Baltimore and will be back at the 9:30 Club tonight to make it three nights in a row).
Titus Andronicus were outstanding, as well.

mrdarcey wrote:Good show all around. Less crowd intensity than tonight and there were some flubbed lyrics, particularly Boat Train, but what the hell. The band was really into it and having good fun with the crowd, particularly those continually yelling for Dirty Old Town. The numerous dedications were a nice touch. Highlight was Thousands. Lowlight was the three people in the crowd who acknowledged the Ronnie Drew dedication. Oh well.
Great to meet EricV, Brian and Spider in passing after the show. Thanks Philip.
