Detroit - March 4. 2011

Post Sat Mar 05, 2011 1:23 pm

In a few short words, Detroit was just amazing!! What a fitting way to see the group perform so close to home.
Without a doubt these gentlemen are very deserving of much recognition, and last nights performance was a true testament to their musical abilities!

Outstanding job!

And thanks for mentioning the Canadians before Dog was played!

Boston on the 12th!

Royal Oak Music Theater, March 4, 2011

Post Sat Mar 05, 2011 4:36 pm

I can only say one thing after seeing that show. I can die a happy man now. It was simply the best concert I have ever been to. Shane's voice was great. The sound at the venue was great. I heard almost all the songs I wanted to hear. Phillip's knees were very cute, and he looked quite dashing in his kilt. Simply wonderful. Thank you for an incredible experience.

As an aside, the set list was identical to Chicago

Hey Pogues to Niagara---

Were you the guy me and my sonth(the tall one!) met in the brewpub and then hing out pre-show with after I hooked you up with your extra ticket buyer?

If so, I really enjoyed meeting you and your family. What a great night....great show, band in great form, good people.

Hi Richard,
It must have been someone else.
I was in the Brew pub for a quick one, but I didn't need a ticket, or bring my family.
That was a fun night, I liked Royal Oak.

Thanks so very very much to the band for coming to Detroit. Such beautiful and rowdy music! And it was great having all those Canadians brave the border crossing to join us.

Also, can someone reassure me that that beer tray was much easier to bend than it looked?... After Shane's third or fourth crack at wrapping the thing over his noggin I got this sick feeling of dread in my gut that hasn't quite left me...
