Last week watching bfch, they didn't start till 10.30pm...finished about 1am...that's more like it!

They happen for a variety of reasons, to do with local byelaws, staff pay rates, whatever. But genuinely, they most often occur because a regular bastard disco is booked into the venue at a fixed time. Besides, we like to be in bed with Jeremy Paxman and a mug of cocoa by 10.30

That's just conjured up an image of eight of you all tucked up, with good old 'Paxo' updating you with the evening's news whilst handing out mugs of steaming hot beverages in the manner of Snow White!!
Incidentally, Paxman has long been a favourite of mine since this interview:

Thanks for that Phil...and as I bust my ass to get to Brixton from Dublin fingers crossed that the lead singer mirrors the efforts of others to get there!

Yes. Brantley has his eccentricities, but he's been a consistent supporter of Druid's work ever since Beauty Queen of Leenane. Incidentally, The Silver Tassie will play in New York for a week in July 2011 as part of the Lincoln Center festival.

That's great news...saw the Beckett works from the Gate at that Festival a couple of years ago. and all alongside a big tour of Cripple of Inishmaan too - their capacity to get shows out and about in Ireland and internationally is phenomenal! Abbey have Borkman in NYC (BAM) in Jan and Terminus touring as well in US...big year for Irish theatre in US - building the reputation one city at a time!

Important Message for those collecting Aftershow passes at Brixton:

Alice Martin, our assistant, has asked me to relay this information.

You must get your Aftershow accreditation from the Guest List entrance on arrival at the Academy, even if you already have a show ticket. I think I'm right in saying this entrance is at the side of the venue, a few yards away from the Stage Door.

Mr Edwards, something called a "viewing platform" has been arranged for you and your companions.

Thank you.

Will there be an aftershow event at tomorrows Brixton gig? How do we go about getting our names down for this?

Our Aftershows, when they occur at all, are incredibly informal, despite the note about "accreditation" above, and are rarely, if ever, attended by everyone in the band. But requests must be made well in advance, sorry.

Culture Ireland, which helps to fund and promote Irish Arts worldwide, has been the great unsung hero of Irish theatre touring in recent years.

Mr Chevron, are the stage times on the Brixton website incorrect, seeing as yours are different?

I don't know what the times are on the Brixton website, but mine are direct from our Production Manager.
