The O2 was smaller than what I expected it to be. Somehow I managed to get my usual front row spec, I was on the second row towards the side of the moshpit for the first few songs, then I was pushed forward slightly and had to grab hold of the barrier to steady myself. A couple of songs later the guy next to me my left moved slighly aside and I got in. He looked a bit miffed so I said 'I'm sorry, you don't mind do you?'. To which he relied 'No, not at all.'

Anywho - it really was a fantastic gig!

Been to '05, '06, '07, '09 & now '10

Annoyed I missed '08 (I was quite ill) - but if it was the last show, at least I had a good run! Every song was fantastic, I'd have liked to have heard Star of the County Down & Turkish Song of the Damned...can't have everything though & still 100% fantastic gig!

From where i was it looked like Spidey smashed the feedback guitar into several pieces. It seemed very good humoured though - he was laughing as he did it. Does this mean no more shane/spider/fiesta noise climax i wonder? i've enjoyed that for the last couple of years..

Yes it may have been you. I felt a bit guilty later on when I looked round and realised you weren't next to me anymore, you were behind me instead. Sorry about that.

Heh, dont worry The benefit of being taller meant that I lost nothing of the show! I might have been more reluctant on the matter if you'd towered over me...(though I may have less choice in the matter)


I wasn't intending to look miffed by the way - just a bit concerned as my coat was over the railing...and losing things is a particular talent of mine...(it's why I kept one hand on the coat on the rail all the way through)

When the band came onstage they stood around for about 60 seconds waiting for MacGowan. Then Spider announced they were going to play Repeal. THEN MacGowan walked onstage and they played Streams.

Surely the band were standing together before coming onstage, rather than just hoping MacGowan would show up onstage at the right time and they would all meet him onstage.

So does this mean the time came to walk on and that he was simply standing at the side of the stage refusing to walk on for over a minute at the start of the gig?

Great great show. The best I have seen for a few years. Made the nightmare journey down from Preston and the hotel of doom all worth it.
Please still be touring next year, our Christmas doesn't start until we have seen The Pogues on the last Saturday before Christmas, somewhere.
My only complaint would be lack of bars/bar staff - why are they always surprised at the amount of people wanting a beer at a Pogues gig.

Took the wife to Her first Pogues Gig and it was bang in the money. Great atmosphere, great performance. Loved 'Poor Paddy' 'Bottle of smoke' and 'Thousands are sailong'. The loved hearing her favourite track performed live 'Tuesday Morning'. Cheers one and each.

Hi everybody !
This concert is one of the best moment in all my life, maybe the best in fact... It was wonderful !
Despite the snow, after travelling 16 hours by car, from Paris to Birmingham, I was there with my friend Barbara.
Magical trip, magical concert, too short but too good !
Special thanks to Scott and Mickaël from Stratford (?) who stayed with us. They contributed to this magical moment.
Thinking now about going to New York for another concert...

Bad quality but I've filmed with my phone...

I've seen several Pogues' gigs since 1985 (bad or excellent), but this one was very good.

I came from France and I don't regret all the problems to go to B'ham and to back home !

Brum 2010, the last ever Pogues gig in my home city.I had travelled by train from Manchester,where the band performed the night before,the blizzards that had engulfed Birmingham,meant i was unable to get home and i ended up staying in the Conference Centre at Aston University, cracking breakfast mind!

Was there as well. Barely made it as our flight from Norway was delayed and redirected to Manchester instead of Heathrow. Checked in to our hotel and got the wrong directions from the receptionist. Ended up taking a wrong turn when reaching the street where the venue was. But thanks to a taxi driver and 20£ including a hefty tip we got in just as Straight to Hell ended and the band got on stage.
