Some one much wiser than myself pulled me back a few stalls and gave me a look to just calm down . The bouncer jumped up to his feet unsure as to what had just happened .Then walked away to side and left everyone else to go down the front.
If you are that bouncer then I send you the up most apologises.

The first time I played Manchester Apollo was in 1977 [with The Radiators] when it was all seated. It's a strange thing but because of that, the venue is never the same in my mind's eye as it is in reality.

Well, it's the first since whenever the cityscape was revived. 2007? We just fancied a change.

For me there'd be a certain symmetry (or however you fuckin spell it) if this was my last Pogues gig. The first time I saw the boys was 22 years ago almost to the day, at the Apollo in Dec 88, as a feckless 22 year old. We were in the stalls then as we were on Friday and it almost felt like I was sitting in the same seat. The years just seemed to roll back and I can honestly say watching Ella deliver her superb vocal on 'Fairytale' brought a tear to my eye - I was lucky enough to watch Kirsty do the same all those years ago. Wonderful.

Seen The Pogues many times but 17th Dec Manchester performance was awesome !!
I don't suppose anyone can post the set list from The Apollo on 17th ??
Here's hoping they turn out not to be the final Christmas performances !!

This was indeed an amazing gig. As Soulfinger has already highlighted the place just went berserk from the off and when Dirty Old Town was played I thought the roof was going to leave the building. I am sure they turn it up a notch for Manchester.

Any truth in this

The snow was very uplifting as we left the gig.......not so much though the next day when it took me 10 hours to get home
