last gigs?

Post Mon Dec 13, 2010 6:58 pm

So the uk and ireland shows in december 2010 are being billed as the 'farewell tour'-

Does that mean they are likely to be the last pogues shows, ever?

Nope. We know they are at least touring in the US in the spring. I saw a post from Spider hinting that if they continue to tour they would like to go to places they havent played in a while. We'll see, so let's be happy while they continue to perform.

Well the US at least is rather large. Perhaps they would tour the west coast? For the UK, maybe they'll make a stop in Belfast. Or perhaps they're done. I dont think we know yet... and i'm not sure they do either.

So that may include Scunthorpe and Cleethorpes? <dances>

What about my house? They have never yet played a gig in my front room? Philip, Spider, come to sunny South London, I can guarantee a sell out.

Ah! Cleethorpes! For a short time in the early eighties Cleethorpes was like Mecca for us soulies. Two regular allmighters at the Winter Gardens and the Pier. I would imagine, that after they stopped, nobody ever went to Cleethorpes ever again (ever). :P

Come play Goldsmith's College, I bet you haven't played SE14 in a while. In fact I don't know if you ever have...

Soulfinger...twas The Wintergardens the band played. I think it's been pulled down.

Last night Spider hinted on stage that the Farewell tour may not be the last we see of 'em.
They were great, and what a superb atmosphere. Raised a few glasses to them all - and Joe and Kirsty...
