You're the measure of my dreams :)

Jenny- I was trying to describe the moment to somebody today and I burst into tears again. I fly back to Australia tomorrow for Christmas and I still have my standing room wristband on from Wednesday. The only conversation over Christmas lunch this year is going to be about that gig, let me tell you :D

I think I should issue a warning in case this covetted gem ever does turn up on YouTube - Shane's version of the lyrics managed to substantially rewrite the history of the First World War. Which just goes to show how hard it is to ruin a great tune.

Spider's version is of course from Thursday 9th, on which evening, according to today's The Sun [Irish Edition] Shane was plastered on POITIN.

The gig on the Thursday was kind of billed as the one to be at - you know tickets not being released for sale and all that - but Dublin Olympia on the Wednesday night was where it was at 8)

This small venue is great - I remember almost nothing of last year here so it was great to take it all in. The mood was brilliant and everyone was singing or drunk but in many cases both. I lost my balance in the pit a fair few times.

The music and song was (as has already been noted) unbelievable. And I think at the end of the gig there was possibly a little high within the band as some of them stayed on stage a little longer after the end of Fiesta and the lights had gone up - was it Spider and Darryl doing a little shoe shuffling together ?

The next night I knew I had had a tough time cos when I put myself in position to do it all over again and the elbows and arms etc came slamming in there was'nt a part of me that wasnt beaten and bruised.

Wednesday was awesome, Thursday much less so - but taking this into account:

"The worst Pogues gig is the one you missed. Because there's nothing worse than missing the Pogues " Firehazard Sept 2010.

See you in Manchester on Friday :D

NEVER, EVER was there a more apt phrase to describe the way our gang felt at 11.30pm on thursday night. I had tickets for wednesday but couldn't make it :x :x

But, lucky for me, i'm the only one travelling over to London to get the chance to sing a final farewell with The Pogues. 8)

See you in The Canturbury!

Lol... what did he mix up ? I did not recognize it. I just was listening to that beautiful song sung with Shane's great voice which just is perfect for an anti war song !
