My information is as follows:

DUBLIN/KILLARNEY Blood and Whiskey
UK Sparrow and the Workshop except
LONDON Dec 22 The Crowns

My information was mistaken. Sparrow and the W'shop open all shows except Dec 22, which is still The Crowns.

Is that "Blood Or Whiskey" playing Dublin / Killarney or as you wrote "Blood And Whiskey".
Blood Or Whiskey are a really great live band, shame they can not make it to the tour dates in England.

Or, as noted above, the Ireland shows.

It's my understanding support acts for both Dec and March tours were scooped on Facebook

Indeed. I've been hoping to catch them on tour anyway, so I was thrilled to hear that they'll be opening for the Pogues in DC, especially since I'd already gotten my tickets.

Anyone who hasn't heard them should go to YouTube right now and listen to the first track off their new album:

Surely the ticket price in todays economy just about covers the heads of the Pogues? Also as they only really tour the UK once a year, I'm more than willing to pay just over thirty quid. A band like Kings of Leon's going rate is about £55 excluding charges just now. Although I have to say I'd love to see a band like Dropkick Murphys or Flogging Molly support The Pogues.

Sparrow And The Workshop did really well for support band slot.
Not sure what a new band has to do to impress the xfactor generation but they looked like a good new up & coming band.
Keep on keeping on to them. Yes would have liked to see a big name like DKM , Billy Bragg or a pogues freindly band like Marseille Figs or Urban Voodoo Machine
but a buy support like this is well worth the extra couple of pence on the price of a pint.

Been to see The Sawdoctors a good few times in this country and a few others both as a support & headline act but think they are not suited to a Pogues support slot .So much of a good Sawdoctors gig is the audience response that needs a time to respond .In the support slot a band is too rushed for time.
A support band set tends to be rushed and often ignored.Sawdoctors set was too rushed . A big name band is not always the answer . Billy Bragg and TMTCH will always be the best support slots.

Sparrow and the Workshop got this tour entirely on merit and we rate them highly. It's been a pleasure to have them along.

I gave them a listening. I suspect they are a Spider find, most assuredly. I will enjoy their thrashing entirely.

I can't recommend them highly enough. Their most recent album, The Monitor, is phenomenal -- a concept album that uses imagery from the US Civil War to describe the angst of growing up in modern New Jersey. And it's only their second album, making it a pretty audacious effort. It's my top pick of 2010, by far.
