Turkish Song of the Damned - Reverb-free mix on Rhapsody?

Post Thu Apr 22, 2010 11:55 pm

Anybody else a Rhapsody subscriber like me?

I was just streaming the cut of Turkish Song of the Damned (from the remaster/bonus track version of IISFFGWG), and I'd SWEAR that this is a different mix of the song than what appears on the CD. The version on Rhapsody doesn't seem to have any of the reverb effect that you can hear on this song elsewhere. It sounds like you're right there in the drum booth with Andrew Ranken.

Perhaps this has something to do with how Rhapsody encoded the track, rather than anything done in the actual mix...But has anyone else noticed this?

Are you sure it's that version, and not the extended 12" version, recently re-realeased on the box set? If it has Kirsty MacColl on the chorus, it's that one.

I think you're thinking of the 12" of If I Should Fall From Grace With God, not Turkish Song of the Damned. (An extended version of "Turkish..." with Kirsty MacColl would have been interesting though.)
