permissions inquiry for "Fairytale of NY" lyrics

Post Wed Feb 03, 2010 9:52 pm

Hello. My book RIVERS OF GOLD will be published by Bloomsbury US in October 2010 and I have two lines from "Fairytale of New York" I'd like to include in the peigraphs page at the front of the book. I called ASCAP here in the US but they said they don't represent the band. Does anyone know who I can contact (and how) to get permission to print these lyrics in the book? Many thanks!

If you email me at dzm@dzm.com I'll point you in the right direction. Alternatively you can register here and then send a Private Message ("PM") to Philip Chevron (his user name is philipchevron) and ask if he can point you in the right direction.

Good luck, and congratulations on being published!

Is your work inspired by The Pogues or Fairytale of New York in any way?
