...you'd like to see the Pogues cover?

Whiskey in the Jar, is one of my all-time faves, but can't say I'm keen on the Pogues/Dubliners version.

Danny Boy, I used to hate this until I heard the Straight to Hell version, and likewise, Shane's version on the box set is excellent.

The Foggy Dew - I love this song, especially the Sinead O'Connor/Chieftains take - sends shivers down my spine each time I hear it (even though I'm not Irish!)....intrigued to imaginge how the Pogues would perform it....

Molly Malone. I've just been listening to Ronnie Drew's version of it, and it's a beautiful song that I reckon could be given the treatment it deserves by the band.

In alternate universe...

This was a rushed out EP follow up to Rum, Sodomy that came out before Stiff Records collapsed. It was inspired by David Bowie's covers album and entitled Puke Ups.

Home Boys Home
Weila Waila
Johnny McEldoo
Patriot Game
Courtin' In the Kitchen
McAlpine's Fusiliers (I stand by my theory that this was the first Pogues song)
Easy & Slow
Red Haired Mary
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye
Raglan Road

I have a copy of that. It's in poor condition but i would never part with it. Did you not find the hidden track at the end of side 2? An awesome version of The West's Awake.
