I think this Christmas tour was the best yet for me personally. To see 4 gigs throughout the past couple of weeks was brilliant. I didnt make the same mistakes as last year (except in Dublin) by getting so hammered I couldnt remember anything. Hats off to my good friend Brendan who did 3 of them with me including Dublin - He went down at least 3 times last night in the mosh (hes 54) then collapsed outside - they wanted to call an ambulance but he knew the drinks were lined up at the cantabury so couldnt wait !!!

Still buzzing today from the weekend. Some really amazing memories not including some random female being on my shoulders thoroughout FONY and being pelted by a snowball (now ice) on the way home, being hit in the jaw and pillow covered in blood this morning (ouch)

A BIG THANK YOU TO THE POGUES FOR THESE EXCEPTIONAL GIGS.

Maybe we should diversify into the Healthcare racket. Merry Christmas.

I am wondering if anyone out there knows if The Pogues will do a US tour around St. Pats again this year. Trying to book tickets before they sell out for other shows, but it is all based on seeing the Pogues in Boston or New York! If anyone has an inside scoop, please let me know.
Cheers!
Merry Christmas!

Had A Brilliant night in Brixton despite the merry go round of a bus journey home. Fantastic to meet Heather and Jake in the Canterbury, Jake's stories made us laugh. Hope the mix up at the stage door didnt put too much of a dampener on things for you guys. Roll on next year

Jake's stories make everyone laugh, except me.

Think I've heard them too many times.

Wow, what a tour. By all accounts on these boards (and any idependent reviews i've seen) the best of the reunions.

Getting to London on Saturday was stressful to say the least but get there i did. I was gutted then to hear that so many other fans were stranded, unable to get to the gig. Firehazard and Eckard, you'll get there next time.

I was late getting to The Cantabury, so missed Heather (AGAIN) but had a pint with Rum, Sodomy & the Lash (but for the life of me can't remember the name of the fourth person down from from Brum) Fionn MaCool, the piss artist formally known as TOSCS (his words, not mine). And some young wan and her Oul Fella from Stockwell.

I'd forgotten how big the Acadamy is, but can see why it wins awards for best live venue. No stupid wrist bands needed to get to the front and a boistrous but great humoured crowd. The Pogues were (again) on the top of thier game.

Funniest moment of the weekend was the way i found out Firehazard hadn't made it down. With the confidence and bravado that only drink gives you, i was on my way back from the bar and passed by the only guy in a wheelchair (he was really singing along with passion and was what i presumed to be the about the right age). So i stopped, turned, raised my glass and shouted up to him.....

"HEY, FIREHAZARD!!!!!"

He looked too bemused to answer, but his partner seemed to be thinking they were definately in the right place and probably wouldn't impede my exit should an emergency situation arise.

What a great weekend. Thanks to Philip and the rest of the gang for another unfogettable night out. 8) 8)

....Which reminds of when Rodney told Del Boy why Uncle Albert couldnt stay at the Sea Mans Mission as there was a Marina there now - Del Boy asked .....well cant he sleep in that .....

So a posh Vauxhall on the river is a Vectra with leather seats and walnut dashboard. Ha Ha

Made it there from DC - what is normally a 2 hour trip took eight. Made the evening all the more epic. Glad the band were able to make the show themselves. And I have the most excellent Daniel Danger poster of the gig framed on my wall as a mememto.

Well there can't have been that many 106-year-olds in the Academy, I'd guess.
That was a kind thought, Fr McG. Cheers back! 8)

The real and original firehazard is still extremely pissed off about how if he hadn't been so stupid as to get his wheelchair marooned in the ice and snow and needed rescuing by kind strangers earlier he might've actually got to Brixton in the evening. Idiot me.

And the other totally annoying thing is that the last time we had a last-minute failing-to-get-to-see-the-Pogues event (the time I crashed the car into a carful of boy racers), we still had time to recover ourselves and get to another gig later in the tour. But this time we'd left our trip to the last gig of the tour, so that was that. Must remember not to leave it so late next time.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Hahaha! Who's Joey? Cashman? I'd love to interview him for White Trash Mag., but I guess he doesn't have an e-mail. He does not look like "the internet-type", whatever that is...
