You can trust Harry Christian, Craig. He is good people. And anyway I am sure he will read this.

Surprise, johnny the fox = dave 81. Yeah, a Thin Lizzy music evening.

Sorry Craig,

I did have respect for you for some time, and then you went AWOL for how long? And now it's the Fintan parade again. Sorry pal, I can see through you like cheap formica.

I seem to remember one of your posts that went something like, and "spelt," like this:

"YOIUI HAVE ENOUGH TIME ON YOUR HANDS TO SIT ON THE NET ALL DAY, thehn get off your arse and sort out YOUR problems from YOUR end with YOUR own pair of balls like a MAN. JUST like I HAVE to and EVERY OTHER dammed person on the planet."

Well sir, now I'm calling YOU a fuckin' spade, and I find your "please send Fintan to Dublin," campaign equally fuckin' pitiful.

Have a great day sir, and thanks for participating,

Dave

No worries, Dave. I can see where you're coming from, especially in light of that outburst at Rover, and I respect your candour absolutely, as always.
I appreciate the feedback, particularly as I keep myself in line. Cheers.

The Bizzarre is in The Bazaar. Aye, aye Sir. :)
Thought of that initially, but wondered about the thread context, since they're intended as giveaways. Thanks for the topic clarification. Yarrr!

I agree. Sad when this forum for promoting their own stuff (I thought that was what the bazaar was for?). He's doing it lots of threads and I cant believe he's being allowed to ASK people for money to fund a trip??? Me and the wife both work to pay bills and feed our kids - I've two jobs to pay the bills let alone afford a CD or a holiday and I can't be the only one like it. Get a job mate there's loads around for those willing to put in the work. No offence but it's not good protocol.

Hey Hando, odd you've not joined the site but have alot to say about members. I personally had no idea CB would give us updates of his progress, but he has and since I'm on that list I feel compelled to answer you. See, a guy like dave81 gets all the respect in the world for his opinion because he has the balls to say what he thinks under his own name. I have news for you, we all work hard. We all have bills to pay and many of us have kids to feed, and more along with our own unique problems. I am fortunate right now that I had a few spare nickles to do as I pleased and this is one of the things I decided to do with mine. At different times in my life I've been comfortable and I've been in painful need. It wasn't more then 2-3 years ago I couldn't afford a cup of coffee(or tea), muchless a CD, etc. With the economy the way it is no one is sure they will have a job in six months, unless you work for the Gov. But I believe that if I can help someone with a need, it will come back to me when I'm in need. Ya know, Karma.
BTW if you're in the States and there's a service or need you have, use your account and PM me. If I can help in someway, It will be our little secret.
I'm not freakin' special or some Santa Clause but I know a few people and organizations here and there. I hope your situation improves soon.

Craig, received package today. Not sure when you mailed but I'd consider that fairly quick from Aussieland to Jerseyland. Sounds aces! Thanks.

Yes, me too, not the flogging of the CD, which was supposed to be in the bazaar thread, but the 'send Fintan to Dublin' bit after crucifying OIrish. Double standards again.

Hando is probably a member who is voicing his opinion anonymously, and I can't blame him, because he can't be bothered with the backlash of having such a radical opinion. I'm with you Hando and Dave.

Ehh I think it's too easy to hide. I admire you as you speak your mind freely also Jenny. Like dave as you have the ummm,,, gumption to use your own name to say what you feel rather then hide like a rat.
And yes we may not agree but I even have to admire Walshy for her rant today

Re: Fintan, the performer

FIRST things first: Due to the current date this will be the last post in this thread by me for a while, because I want nothing to distract or detract from the TRUE purpose and nature of the old Meudsa raft and the buzz surrounding the Pogues on tour!

So: I hope that everyone of you (Pogues, fans, concert-goers, web-dwellers and all) have a BLAST at The Pogues gigs! Shout along for me! Philip, Spider, Shane, et al: Break a leg (metaphorically, and that's ALL!) and I really hope you all have as much enjoyment as you can extract from playing together and making all of us so happy with your music.

Now...

Thanks so much to all of you that have bought my CD recently (and in the past and even the future)!
Your stepping up and supporting my musical efforts has allowed me to scrape together the money to do a low-budget busking tour
of Ireland this December/January. Together you helped me raise the $400 I used to secure the ticket. Gigs, day jobs, thrift and and the blessing of a musical patron raised the other $2000. That's it. Ticket. Instruments. Me. Hope. Faith. Determination to have a productive, contributive and above all frugal time 'working' at the thing I love most of all in the world in the place I love most of all in the world. I am so lucky, and you help me to realise that fortune.

Do not think for a minute that I ever take that help, support and encouragement (not to mention the sometimes hostile begrudgery and genuine negative feedback)with anything other than the most profound sense of responsibility and gratitude.

No hotels, no cigars, no flashy nothing. Just busking, sessioning, learning, speaking Irish with the Irish, gigging, catching up with some old friends, and enjoying a brief glimpse of Ireland while loving the rain and the cold and the complete absence of flies and bushfires etc.

You guys are truly awesome supporters, and anyone of you that is in Ireland during the same time I want to meet, thank personally and sing a couple of songs for (or at least share a pint/coffee/Red Bull etc). Thank you all, and I look forward to keeping you posted on the Pilgrimish Progress of the "Back To The Well" tour on Facebook & Reverbnation & Fintan.com.au.

A HUGE personal thank you and hugs to the Magnificent 7 mentioned above, whose intial financial support put down the deposit that
made this mad idea possible. Harry Christian, you're a hard man to find, but a great friend when in need of encouragement to stay the course and trust. Bless you especially Sir.

An open post to IrishRover:

IrishRover! I have repeatedly, both publicly and privately, attempted to explain to you that I was WAY out of line previously.
By way of apology, I'd like to ask you to be a part of my upcoming insane busking tour of Ireland.
I've been able to scrape together enough money to get to Ireland for a December/January tour. As much as I'd love to stay there forever, I can't, but I'm excited as all hell to even be there for a month or two playing music and I'd LOVE to have you be a part of it, as we'd always discussed years ago.
I'll be arriving in Dublin on Dec 8 and will immediately start busking and/or trying to get a seat at some local sessions.
Nothing would make me happier about both your and my seperate and collective dreams regarding Ireland than to have you come over and do somebusking with me, even just for a few days. What do you say?

Neat! Good luck with the tour, sir. And wouldn't it be a fantastic opportunity if IrishRover takes you up on your invitation? What a great chance for both of you to spend time in Ireland, make connections, gain experience, etc.

Good luck!

Enjoy, Craig.

It will be a case of 'No Flies On You' for a wee while.
