Typical, gets the best education going and then sods off abroad... Who can blame him, I wish him all the best 8)
Thanks people. He's only going to Italy for a couple of weeks and whether it was actually the highest dissertation in his field is yet unsure but they think it might have been - which is enough. He wants to stay in the UK to teach A level or University eventually. He did get Sportsman of the Year award and some other interesting oppoortunites have now come his way. It was a huge effort and there are plenty of other kids graduating in the UK who deserve praise as well, so well done to all of you!!

Nice of them to acknowledge it though! I used to live in Llanddeusant, (Dyfed) Wales as a kid. Smack, bang, in the middle of nowhere. I loved it, but wasn't so keen on the compulsory Welsh lessons in school! Jenny and I have discussed this before! The locals were very welcoming to us and we met some real characters.

You must be very proud. Its so easy for kids to get off the straight and narrow these days. From personal experience, I see more and more lately, it's the kids who get given everything (as I am sure we do with ours!) that keep fucking up. Mine was hovering over me at 5:00 a.m. doing a really good Damien impression saying "when's it going to be morning?" He was quickly sent packing. But as you say, before I know it', he'll be all grown up an hopefully graduating with such high accolades as your boy! Image

It certainly is. Don't know where the time goes. Make the most of every moment. And many congratulations. Bookish, you can rightly be proud.

If EV is in the PacNW then EV should look up NeilInSeattle (who is, in fact, in Portland). EV will experience far too much tasty tasty beer, darts, and smoking in pub(s).
