As long as you remain in jail you can still write the country western.
More whiskey
And fresh horses for the men!

... as long as you've been crying in your beer.
And I don't want no grave
Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

Oirish, in the tradition of the great Johnny Cash, should be making albums recorded live in prison.

If there were such a thing as a Learn Guitar In A Day The Jake Burns Way, I reckon you'd be onto a winner with that set of lyrics over a decent SLF riff.

.60mm Dunlop

But picks really are such a matter of personal preference. Many guitarists favour harder, tortoiseshell-style plecs, but I like the flexibility I get from the more pliable Dunlops, plus they hold better when your hand starts to perspire. I use a .75mm when I play mandolin or Darryl's bass, neither of which I'm currently called upon to do. As often as not, one favours what one has gotten used to. Maybe it's just me: I don't remember a time I didn't use Dunlop 60s. It's a bit like ciggies. When I was a smoker, I did not change my brand for 30 years, but most other smokers are a bit more eclectic than that.

thanks Philip, gooid thoing oi asked agaoin, oi thoiught twas' 0.50mm so thats what oi used all thois toime(Dunlop Tortex moistly, oines woith a turtle), have soime woith rhoino called Ultex, also 0.50mm, also Dunlop, but they seemed to be less coimfoirtable; oi doin't have a clue why they draw doifferent anoimals oin em' poicks woith same thoickness.. doies a rhoino poick woirk oiut better woith fast songs and turtle oine woith sloiwer songs ? doies soiund loike a funny oissue !

takoin' advoice froim the best, oi'll certaoinly try oiut 0.60mm.
oi've noitoiced theres poicks that aren't straoight flat but are made foir better hoildoin', woith a hoile to place the thumb, better groip, oif these can be foiund oin 0.60mm & Dunloip oi'll get soime of thoise.

For me, I have 2 picks - can't recall the weight at the moment - probably .60 & .75 but I use the thicker for either soloing or arpegio picking and the thinner for rhythm, using the same principle for whatever instrument I'm playing (other than banjo - I can't use the banjo picks) I could never get to grips with playing with a stiff pick so both are fairly flexible and I have a couple of the lighter ones that are worn to the shape of my thumb.
