Re: Tattoos

Post Mon Mar 16, 2009 5:05 am

can't find a way to upload them from my telephone but i've got two compass roses on either elbow (red on the left and green on the right), a branch of cherry blossoms running the length of my left forearm, a green and blue sparrow on my right forearm, a big ship running most of my chest and stomach with a banner underneath that says "Fill My Sails Shine A Light Guide Me Home," and an anchor with a helm and white hat on my right pectoral.

next on the list is to fill the rest of my chest and stomach with some more sea life, a geisha down my left side and maybe a hula girl down my right (possibly a smaller version on my right forearm instead). i wanna keep my left side as my "asian" side (as i was stationed in japan) and my right side as my "western world" side.

i hated the f@#%ing navy but i loved the sea and all of the romantic imagery that comes with it (a BIG reason i love the pogues, flogging molly, and great irish and seafaring music altogether). i wanna carry it with me until i die. :)

Nice one Corey S.

Great colours, and nice shading work on the spars etc.

Funnily enough, your frecklage works really well with the design, lending a slightly 'rusted' look to the blue-steel anchor. Gee, the Gods move in mist-ear-ee-us waze. eh?

Wear 'er with pride, m'hearty - yarrrrr!

Thanks Craig. The funny thing is I had intended for it to be black and gray, but the guy who did it convinced me otherwise. Good thing too! It came out better than I could've asked. I like the traditional look of it.

Sleeping?

Post Thu Jun 18, 2009 2:17 am

To those who have been tattooed: is it possible to go to sleep while having a tattoo done? Providing that one has had no sleep inducing drugs/pain killers. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/world/826879 ... backs-down

Corey, that's a nice tattoo..

For people who haven't been stung by the tattoo needle... I often fell asleep during my arm but if it went to any sensitive part I reckon people would wake up.. On the face, I doubt I would fall asleep.. Spine, middle chest and under your arm.. I doubt many people could fall asleep.

that's nuts. i've never fallen asleep under the needle. i've never even heard of it. especially while your face is getting inked! i don't think it looks all that bad, though, to be honest. :D

Aside from the pain, the fact she had a buzzing needle next to her ear would have kept her awake. The stupid wench is clearly trying to make excuses for the fact that she got a stupid tattoo that she thought would be cool but her parents/boyfriend didn't.

And the so called 'freak' has to foot the bill. He should have only given her money back cos she was making a noise, but not any sort of compensation.

I agree, jenny and Fionn. Sounds like she just regrets her decision. I don't think the tattoo artist needs to pay anything. But it is making him look like a good guy, so it'll probably help him out in the long run.
