Cracker Jibbs wrote:Hello all,

This is my first post on the forum. I just stumbled across it today. I am a huge Pogues fan from B.C. Canada and I am overjoyed that they are (reportedly) going to play Seattle in Oct. If I can scrape together the cash, I might just try and see the Portland show as well, though I suppose that might just put a dent in my GPA...

welcome to the forum jibbs.

as a word of advice to you, gpa's can always get put back together. pogues west coast tours? not necessarily. :D

Agreed. In retrospect, I'd give up a few of my As for a great time at a Pogues concert. Go for it!

Last semester I dropped a course just so I could see Neil Young. It was well worth it.

Praise the Lord my academic ambitions never exceeded my "going to concerts as often as possible" ambitions. I got a lot more zen about life when I accepted the prospect of getting Cs instead of beating myself up the night before exams and rotting my guts with a constant barrage of coffee and cigarettes. Blowing off a research paper to go see Nick Cave led to a night I'll remember for years.

Anyway 4-year-old brother loves the T&C '88 DVD, listens to it before bed pretty much every day. Wonder if I could sneak him in under my shirt, I mean buy him a ticket, if the boys play at the Wiltern.

Regardless, I'm definitely going to do my best to be at one or two of these gigs. I've only been able to see the Pogues with that James fellow subbing for Mr. Chevron. And the guy was good, don't get me wrong, but it's just not the same, you know? Phil's got moves.
