Is Kilmichael still out there? I was hoping he'd continue this series.

I've only just read this thread now. I must say it's the pinnicle of obsessive geekiness.

Which is to say i read the whole thing with great interest and will be cutting & pasting it into one text document and making many a mix cd in the near future, no doubt... I think maybe we need a support group. Or is that what this is?

I've only just stumbled across this thread - utterly marvellous :-)

Could someone please point me in the right direction to find the BBC sessions?

Some of them ended up on the box set, you can check the tracklist notes here:
http://www.discogs.com/Pogues-Just-Look ... se/1569315

Actually, i see now Kilmichael has listed in his notes which those were.

I have a LOT of Pogues bootlegs downloaded and traded over the years, and they include very few studio sessions. I guess Pogues fans were all out at the pub, not at home taping off the radio!

Hi OWEI, glad this thread is still of interest to people. I've often thought of finishing it but too be honest without dear Phil's input I'm not sure how accurate it would be.

As far as the radio sessions, the complete Peel sessions (both from 1984) and the Kid Jensen session (also 1984) circulate amongst fans, but I've never seen the full versions of the 2 Janice Long sessions (from 1985 and 1986). I believe at one time the band were planning to release the complete sessions on CD but it never materialised.

Somewhere on this forum, when asked, Phil said the box set mooted that release. "Moot", apparently NOT meaning if they released it WE, at least, would all buy a copy.

Yeah, shame that never materialised. Can't see it happening now.
There's also a couple of radio session from 1994-5, with Spider on vocs, which would have made welcome additions to any CD release.
