Also, I really loved these Daniel Danger posters that I spotted last year for the Pogues USA 2008 tour. The first one is my favorite..I love the small character hiding out in the shadows. Dark, yet somehow uplifting at the same time.

Drawings, Sketches or Paintings of Shane...

Post Fri Sep 25, 2009 12:28 pm

HI,

I drew the sketch below and wondered if anyone else has any of their own drawings of shane or the band they would like to share. Let me know what you think:

Well done Gary, i like it. I think there's already a thread for artwork so you should check that out. Some good stuff on it.

I can't find it either. I know one of our Medusans had pictures up of a sculpture based on the Rake At The Gates Of Hell

Neither can I find it. There's an "Artists" thread in Classics, but I'm sure I remember a members' art thread somewhere. As it were. DzM, Zuzana, do you know where it is?

It (and another art thread) have been found, resurrected from backup-land, merged, and brought to The Classics where they will not be at risk of going away again.

That one is for discussing favourite artists in general. "Pogues inspired art" should be for presenting art inspired by the Pogues and Shane - especially art created by Medusaians themselves.

How timely that this thread has reappeared. For those of you coming to the San Diego show, my Pogues inspired piece "Judgement Dogs: Last Chance at the Gates of Hell" is currently on exhibit in a show titled "Extreme Art" at a gallery just outside of San Diego. It is quite cool that the curator set the exhibition up so that you actually have to walk through my Gates of Hell to enter the show. I have another piece in that same show called "Hostage", which is my visual eulogy for Brendan Behan. The show runs through October 25th.

K, for those of us who will not be in the vicinity of the exhibit, could you please post some pictures, or a link to them, of the pieces? Thanks! :D

Territa, I'm going to try to get a decent picture of the way they set up the Gates this time.
And in classic Kathleen fashion...I finished the Behan piece the morning I had to deliver it to the gallery, so I didn't get a chance to shoot it beforehand  hahaha, will post that one later as well
