Still recovering from an incredible show, but wanted to post the set list (as best as I can reconstruct it):

If I Should Fall From Grace With God
Broad Majestic Shannon
Turkish Song of the Damned
A Pair of Brown Eyes
Battle of Brisbane
Cotton Fields
Greenland Whale Fisheries
Sayonara
Tuesday Morning
Kitty
Sunny Side of the Street
Metropolitan
Body of an American
Lullaby of London
Thousands Are Sailing
Dirty Old Town
Bottle of Smoke
Sickbed of Cuchullain

Encore:
Sally MacLennane
A Rainy Night In Soho
Irish Rover

Second Encore:
Poor Paddy
Fiesta

Can we assume that Metropolitan is not Transmetropolitan but Metropolis? If so, will the horn section be coming to Boston, too?

Yeah, I meant to write "Metropolis." The horns from the Marseille Figs were excellent, both there and in Fiesta.

And I may have confused Brisbane with Repeal, which I often do, for some reason.

Great Pictures of a Great Show. Nice crowd, too--where we were, at least. We were on the balcony so we got to pay more attention to the band and the fun they were having seemed to shine through. How can I forget what an amazing showman James Fearnley is? Thanks for the shows--my tickets are done and now I am jealous of Boston and DC tonight...

Of course it's him! No one would dare to impersonate such a man. :P

Perhaps this thread title should be changed to cover all DC shows?

Anyhoo, last night and the 16th were so incredible. Both nights Shane came out a little wobbly but as he always seems to do, within a couple of songs he gets stronger and stronger. I am again surprised at how well I could understand the words. I don't know if that's because I *know* all the words or because he's singing them really clearly, but they sounded perfect to me. Anyway both nights were fantastic. My friend who was with me last night has been to the 9:30 Club probably a hundred times at least and said she's NEVER seen it as crowded.

And Mr. C. dedicated a song to me and KathleenwithaK, which has made my entire year. I cried the whole time they were playing it. The security people near me must have thought I was crazy.

I shot them again last night (with the good camera) and will have more pictures up soon. There were also a few new ones added to my original Atlanta posting on my Web site & Flickr. I also took a few with my P&S at the DC 3/16 show but I don't think many came out well - pit was too rough, couldn't keep camera straight.

BTW Mr. C., I talked to Ben Nichols (who was really good, everyone should go buy his CD) when he came off stage and he was truly honored and thrilled to have opened for you. I think he's one of your biggest fans. :P

Went last night (17th). Great time. Met up with several Medusans. Shane was just a little more shaky than I've seen him before, I think, but overall it was great. The two "new" songs in the lineup were a surprise, and well enjoyed. Went alone. Ate a ticket. We all cried for the famine. Cheers. And thanks Pogues! :D

"Made it" -- hell, Philip, I was standing just about right in front of you. I was about three people back, behind KathleenwithaK. But I guess we all look alike to you. But seriously, thanks. I'll be logging in all proper-like any day now. Very happy you were able to play on this tour. :)

DC

Thank you thank you thank you for coming to DC - tonight's was the best of three wonderful shows.

Brought a friend who'd never been and he observed afterwards, "Those guys, when they all get going, they're like a .. like a force!" Say no more...

It's true DC might not be a real city like NY or Boston, but we're not all stuffed shirts here.

Cheers All
