Not necessarily a bad thing for the team, as Collingwood hasn't been worth his place as a batsman or a bowler for a while now. And his captaincy isn't that hot either. Ok, they'll miss his fielding...
And actually I reckon Collingwood should have been sacked as captain, or at the very least severely reprimanded by the E(&W)CB for his conduct yesterday over the run-out of NZ's Elliott: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket ... 474301.stm
Ok, he apologised and said it was a split-second decision, but he had plenty of time to change his mind while the guy was lying injured on the pitch. Not in the spirit an' all that. Shocking stuff.
