A place to discuss largely non-Pogues related things.

Today I was listening to ALKALINE - Extra Long Life, which was a reggae-dub side project of Canadian band Big Sugar (Gordie Johnson).

Gordie Johnson now fronts a band hailing from Austin TX called Grady aside from producing many bands' albums.

Oh, they're excellent. We stumbled across them 2 years ago playing at a music conference in Harrisburg. At the end of the set they immediately came over to talk to us because I had my Pogues shirt on - they had played "Waxie's Dargle" before we got there.

TWO accordion players! Now that's the stuff!

Glad to hear they're still around.

Being that is was St. Patrick's Day I listened to The Pogues Red Roses For Me, Rum, Sodomy and the Lash, and If I Should Fall From Grace With God, plus The Dubliners Spirit of the Irish, while I was knocking back the pints of Guinness. Good Times!!!!
