Shane's pile o' songs

Post Fri Nov 02, 2007 1:07 am

Mentioned in one of the docos I remember Nick Cave mentioning Shane's pile of songs that he has cluttered in heap in a room somewhere. Can anybody shed anymore light on this? Are there many? The mind boggles to what lyrical content may lie dormant neath mounds of disheveled A4. I had a pizza, underneath a sock, underneath a cat in my room once so I know all too well the rigours of attempting to keep a systematic office style organisational set-up

oi opened somilar threads about the oissue..
theres more gold in the crock surely 8)
Shane surely has materoial for at least 1 album oif not more

Heres some ointerestoing parts of what Shaneo said:

So a year ago, I heard you were working on a double album titled 20th Century Paddy. Is that still in the works?
Yeah, but we'll probably put a live album out first. We're going to record some shows around St. Patrick's Day and make a live album.

So will your next studio release still be a double album?
It'll definitely be half-traditional and half original, but no, it'll probably be a long single album. There's no need to record a double album. There could always be "20th Century Paddy Part Two" some day [laughs].

And here's some interesting parts of what OirishRover said:

Irish punk rock band, located in Belgrade, Serbia. (...) Work on authentic, original songs started in August of 2006. and first album of the band is expected somewhere in 2007. Band should start doing gigs again in October 2006. with big plans, touring in Europe etc. (link)

I have decided that henceforth if you can't be bothered to write in English, I'm not going to waste my time deciphering your prose.

I think its shite, to be honest. And the fact that Shane is such an incredible songwriter makes it even sadder. This is the geezer who wrote Lullaby of London. And a load more of the most incredilble songs i've ever heard. Its a good idea in theory though, Adrian Sherwood has done some brillant stuff. A missed opportunity to do something great i think.

Hey Longfoot  I just realised who you are ! How you doing man? Did u get those shoes yet?
I am a big fan of Adrian Sherwood , He did a good job on Crock of Gold , You can hear his production on St John Of Gods where differnt instruments fade in and out . Check out New Age Steppers anyone who hasnt heard them.
