The Pogues, Birmingham Carling Academy 2007! Ok so i should be ashamed of myself for only ever having made it to one proper gig but what's a girl to do when she's my age and she's in love with the Pogues, Stiff Little Fingers, the Clash, Wire, Buzzcocks, REM, The Men They Couldn't Hang, etc, etc? Other than drag one of her many indie-loving friends kicking and singing the Arctic Monkeys to see the Pogues although the Holloways might even have me converted to indie-type music...

My mom took me to a few country music concerts when I was a kid. I believe my first concert was the Oak Ridge Boys, but she also took me to see Don Williams and a triple bill of Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Ray Charles. My mom wasn't a Ray Charles fan, so I spent most of his set waiting in line for hot dogs.

haha mine was the Oak Ridge Boys as well. I think there might've been a Gloria Estefan before that but can't remember.

My first concert was the Beatles, Maple Leaf Gardens, in I think 1966. I won 2 tickets from CKEY radio.

I made plans to take my friend Anne but my parents made me take my older brother, who wasn't a fan, to enforce the "no-screaming" rule.

My first concert was an 80s-tastic double bill: Cyndi Lauper with opening act the Bangles, in about 1984, so I would've been about 11. This was before the Bangles had had any hits and were still a loud garage band nobody had ever heard of. (Everybody forgets that before they got polished up and learned how to walk like Egyptians, they were college radio darlings.) They were actually pretty much completely awesome. I went out the next day and bought the album they were touring in support of (All Over The Place) and it's still one of my top 5 albums of all time.

I was drug to many a symphony and ballet before I was ten. I don't know if those count. I'm sure I was plenty unpopular with the other patrons.

I was about 12 when I travelled to the big city to see ZZtop on their eliminator tour. Good rock n roll to be sure...unfortunately, I caught Night Ranger as the opening act, and they will go down as my introduction to rock. Sister Christian is still like scraping fingernails to me.

Oh...wait...was this a geriatric reunion tour? Well, I'd still like to hear about it. A couple of the Monkees tunes are seriously great songs, no matter who played on them.

Unfortunately, it was one of those geriatric reunion tours, though of course I wish I had seen the original ones with Hendrix. I remember enjoying this show anyway, though!

My best/favorite concert? Tom Waits in Chicago, 2006.
