Yes an excellent concert.

Loved the Sinead and FONY with the fake snow :)

Shane was in great form, even if he had to have the words of 2 of the songs written down , that didnt matter.

Long live The Pogues

Good size crowd also

I thought the Sinead thing was a runour. Glad you enjoyed it. I heard Shane & Sinead had made up a few years back. Give me Ella any day, she seems to do the song a lot of justice. Any one know if O'Connor will be at the RDS tonight?

The flight over was delayed an hour and a half, an hour due to the crap weather round Manchester airport and half an hour trying to find some idiot who'd managed to get himself lost in the airport.

After getting the quickest wash and change of my entire life we set out for the meet at The Hatfield, where we met Niall, Mick Molloy and a few other Dutch people.

Left for the gig at 7.30pm via taxi and arrived just as the support band went on stage. God they were loud (or is it just me getting old)?

The Pogues were brilliant, the sound was spot on again, but boy can the people of Belfast drink or what? I've never seen an entire Pogues audience as rat arsed as the one last night. Me and my other half were probably the soberest people there.

Some really great moments worth seeing, Sinead O'Connor singing Fairytale being one. Some bad things too, like having a speaker spoiling my view of Terry and stand in guitarist James.

I am absolutely shattered, only got four hours sleep last night, not due to drinking, due to the fact I was too hyped up to sleep.

Was a really good night, great experience.

brilliant gig, really makes christmas. thats the second christmas party i have been at and have to sa that they keep getting better and better. it will be great to tell our grandchildren that weheard shance mcgowan sing fairytale of newyork live.

ps those that were throwing things onto the stage and managed to hit shane should have been ejected straight away. no need for that. shane is a legend, was surprised a the behaviour.

this was probably the best I've ever seen the Pogues and Shane, I can hardly put into words how good they were, I was at Brixton on Wednesday night and it took a few songs for Shane to get into the swing of things, no such troubles here. Set-list was identical to the Brixton show as far as I can tell, the atmos was brilliant, everyone was really up for it, thanks lads!

Agreed.

Especially the guy who threw the trainer, it was huge and hit Shane right on the back.

Although the incident with Andrew and the bra was very funny.

The other person who should have been ejected was the person throwing beer in the crowd, What an idiot.

I do object to this, I went back to the hotel with my hair stuck together at the back. It's lucky it did not land in my eyes as I had my contact lenses, that would have ruined my night as I would have been blinded. People just don't think.

I agree with you all... The 'prats' that were throwing any items should have been thrown out.

I dont understand why people pay money to see their favourite band and then decide to throw items at them, beer bottles (plastic), shoes etc..

I can only put that down to the fact that many decided that Christmas has started, so they started to get rat-arsed and thought it would be funny.

I was tempted a few times to lift a few plastic bottles (I wasn't drinking as I was driving) and throw them at the PRICKS to give them a taste of their own medicine but decided I was better not to lower myself to their level.

However good points, when Shane came out the crowd went wild. When he mentioned he was going to sing Dirty Old Town, the crowd got it started before he did, what a song.

It was also funny to see Shane with the words to Thousands are Sailing and another one (cant remember the name).

Also at the earlier part of the show, some fans got on top of friends shoulders, and over to the right hand side of the stage about 40-50 feet from the front some old guy (looked around 60) was up, thats got to be the oldest person ever to be up on shoulders at any gig and that includes the stones.

Main down point................ when the concert finished, but they had to finish at some stage otherwise Dublin would miss out.

Enjoy the concert tonight Dublin, I should have got a ticket for there as well.

Looking forward to seeing The Pogues back in Belfast SOON (next year).

I spoke to the band before they went on stage tonight at the RDS. Great to see them all again after all this time. They tell me Belfast was the gig of the tour, so clearly they weren't too upset at being pelted with things.

Belfast WAS the gig of the tour. It was always gonna be that way.

Heather, sorry I missed you. Me and Miss Walshy arrived at the Hatfield at 7.30ish.

On the subject of people throwing things, it was completely out of order that Shane threw his beer tray into the crowd at the end. IT HIT ME IN THE FACE AND NOW IT'S AT HOME IN TIPPERARY!!!

Was Walshy with you then? I saw someone who looked like her from the back when I arrived.

Belfast was always going to be a favourite as they hadn't played it before the reunions began. I love brixton on the 18th, fuck Christmas Eve & Day. Tuesday 18th December was my Christmas day for 2007.

Philip, all going according to plan are you looking forward to playing in Belfast next year?
