POGUES classic, The Fairytale of New York, has been voted the nation’s favourite Christmas song.
The festive anthem, that was famously recorded while the Irish group where intoxicated and featured the late Kirsty MacColl, came out on top of a survey conducted by Magic Music TV and Radio

The song was recently censored and then un-censored by Radio One.

Mariah Carey was narrowly beaten into second place with, All I Want For Christmas.

They may be flying high at the moment with their world tour but the Spice Girls failed to make it into the top 10 with their festive favourite, 2 Become 1, which only reached Number 13.

Even more surprisingly, the world’s most famous girl band’s two other Christmas number one’s, Too Much and Goodbye, didn’t even make the list.

The Nations Favourite Top 50 Christmas songs will be broadcast on Magic Music TV, Sky channel 352 and Virgin 330/340 on Christmas Day from 9am.

[I am NOT in the habit of reading The Scum, btw. I came across this link in the course of work-related research. Honest.]
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.
