Most certainly al...if you've never seen them, you never get the same show twice.Very nice.First night we saw them in a very small club in Poughkeepsie,NY.We were so fortunate to have Darkbuster as one of the openers,as they only did the 1st & last shows on the short tour.Opening the whole thing was a new band called Everybody Out.They were excellent. They shouted out that it was only their 2nd live show,we were like, yeah right. But it turned out true. And,which we didn't find out til the DKM set,one of the guitar players was original Murph,Rick Barton!Seems he's come out of retirement & I highly recommend his new act.Bought the only thing they had available,a self titled 5 somg ep.Get it if you can.Next up was Darkbuster, a personal favorite of mine.If you like the Ramones, the Clash,NOFX,Social D,check out their cd,A Weakness For The Spirits...you won't be disappointed,my personal guarantee.Go see these guys(& gal) & drink with them afterwards. They're a riot.Onto DKM.Fucking blistering loud.I've seen them about 10 times & have never felt them at that decibel level before.Opened with For Boston, into Famous For Nothing ,into Boys On The Docks.Usual rapid fire agenda. In NYC 3 nights later, they opened with Famous...,no For Boston. The new live show consists of a large chunk of the new one, roughly 5-6 songs,ALOT of Warriors Code & again,a good chunk of Blackout. The standout "Bastards On Parade" was done both nights,as was,"Warriors Code","Spirits Alive","Fields Of Athenry" & suprisingly,"Auld Triangle".(I know that particular song rankles alot of feathers on this site,...oh well!).Songs from the new one were "Famous","God Willing"(1st night only if I remember rightly),"State Of Mass",which is a new classic,"Vices..","Flannigans",def 1st night,I'm sketchy if they did it 2nd night,& "Johnny" both times, another new welcome addition to the live set.Sadly, the older songs are fewer & fewer, but lie I said previously, that's where the band is going.Either like it or leave it.Oldies included "Barroom Hero",(of course),"Heroes From Our Past","Forever" & an outstanding sing along of "Wild Rover".We personally had a great section, night 2 in NYC,with arms over shoulders, weaving with the sound, about 6 wide.Fun 'n games! The closers were no suprise,"Shipping Up To Boston","Kiss Me I'm Shitfaced" & "Skinhead".I guess "Spicy" is a goner.
Anyways,go see them when they come to your neighborhood. You will not be disappointed.I'm going to add 2 links at the bottom of "professional" reviews from the last show of the mini tour, the closing of the Avalon. For those of us fortunate enough to have celebrated St.Patricks Day there,it will certainly be missed.God only knows where we'll wind up this year.It better be in an intimate setting!!Thanks for taking time to read the review.Rock on..
