You may have heard the rumor by now and yes, it's true. We have finished recording our new album and will be mastering it when we return from Europe early next week ready to get it out to all of you. We will keep you updated with any news, promotions and special offers around the album release over the coming weeks.

"The Meanest Of Times" will be available from September 18th on DKM's own record label, Born & Bred Records which will be distributed by Warner Music's Independent Label Group.

"The Meanest Of Times" is a collection of tales about family, loyalty and remembering where you came from. It contains what we hope are all the best elements of the DKM sound: classic punk rock, Celtic folk and American rock'n'roll. The album also features guest appearances by Spider Stacy of The Pogues and Ronnie Drew of The Dubliners as a special treat.

We will post some songs from the album to give you a taste of what you are in store for leading up to the album's release.

Also, we will be touring the US and Canada in August, September and November around the release of the album so please join our mailing list or Myspace page to keep up with all the latest news about tour dates and the album release.

Well that sounds interesting - but having Spider and Drew will not automatically a quality album make. I reckon the DKM have lost it - the last few albums were boring and repetitive. They just looked lost on stage at the Academy in 2005. When I saw them with Agnostic Front at the Garage in London in December 1998 they OWNED the venue - now that was a good start to Xmas. I remember Guinness EVERYWHERE and Mickey Fitz from the Business came on to do 'Skinhead'. I think they're better as a punk/hc band and, while I admire their efforts, they should stick to what they know and do best. More Slapshot cover please DKM! Will still turn out to see the live shoes though as, in small places, they are quality. I was congratulated in Brighton in March 2005 by a 16 year old in a GBH t-shirt - "Well done for being in to the Pogues" he said admiring my '88 tour t-shirt!

I'd recommend the Bruisers if you like older DKM. It was Al Barr's band before DKM.

Yep - liked the Bruisers with Al singing - saw 'em play at the Camden Underworld with Madball in 1994 and they rocked. I just don't think Al's voice suits the DKM sound and much preferred Mike McCoglan.

Do you like The Men They Couldn't Hang? I reckon you might do. I'll do you a cd if you like - mail me on markjhunt@yahoo.co.uk. Are you in to the punkier oi stuff or the folkier stuff? Take it you dig Flogging Molly as well?

Okay you crazy, rabid bastards! Are you ready for the first preview from the new record? "The Meanest Of Times" - in stores Sept.18th 2007! Well this is even better than a song from the record because it's an outtake version that you'll only hear here. This version of the song, "(F)lannigan's Ball" is sung by AL, and Ken. Like we said it will only be available on myspace.com and here. The version of (F)lannigan's Ball that will appear on the album features guests vocalists, Ronnie Drew from the Dubliners and Spider Stacy from the Pogues who joined AL and Ken for this special rendition of a song that encompasses 3 generations of Irish music. Hope you enjoy it and look for more actual songs from the record to be periodically posted on the site. We look forward to you guys hearing the album and really look foward to coming out and playing the songs live for you all.
