The generous translator treated Shane to substantially more alcohol than Victoria – in Czech, the book is titled The Booze-Up with MacGowan.:D It was brought out by Maťa, a small publishing house that specializes in alternative culture. (Among other books, they published Trainspotting or the authors of the Beat generation.) At first sight, the translation even looks acceptable, despite killing Victoria’s trademark style with adverbs at the end of all sentences, and despite very lame attempts at translating lyrics. By the way, Shane turns from a „sweet pea“ into „little sun“ in Czech.
Any idea whether Drink has been translated into any other languages?
