I'm going to the Friday show, but I'll be in London on Thursday and may go on Thursday if anything's planned for then.

Usually most people would head towards The Canterbury on Pope's Road. See you there 8)

Make the most of it. It's been threatened with closure. There is an online petition to save it, here:

Thanks, signed it. Hope it lasts another month (and 4 days), but with my luck, it won't.

Unfortunately the Canterbury has never, as far as I'm aware, been concerned to provide wheelchair access. Assuming that's still the case, I'm afraid I shan't be signing. Sorry folks.

Oh that's too bad, but I suppose we can add that request as a note on the petition?

Is there an alternate spot if the Canterbury actually is shut down?

What is the problem, stairs or restroom? We can hoist you up the stairs if necessary for the meet up.

As far as I understand it, both are problems. Though never having managed to get into the place, I can't personally verify the interior facilities.

Anyway, thanks for the offer, but as Brixton Academy stipulate that wheelchair users need to be in the venue before or around door-opening time, and it's a working day for me, I suspect I'll have to go straight to the venue on arrival, rather than visiting any establishments beforehand.

So it's not in this case down to my own needs, but I do have a real issue with places that have never bothered to sort out their accessibility. There's no real excuse for it.

youre right mate. Other places have been doing it for years, so for somewhere to still not have done it is shameful

OK, if your plans change let us know, we can always change meet up local.

Sure will, that would be great. You wouldn't believe how ridiculously complicated it always turns out to be getting me the approx. 65 miles from here to there. Chances are I shall end up waving at you all from the wheelchair-accessible bit at the edge of the Academy.

Which night are you attending again? We will try and say hello.

I have tickets (well, an email that I'm supposed to present at the box office) for the Thursday night. And it would be great to meet, however and wherever it ends up being.

I won't be there but...here's an idea..what with london being chock-full of pubs...meet at a different pub..a pub you know will be open..a pub where firehazard can get into and out of with ease..just saying.
