Do you mean somewhere thats expensive or a right bleeding rip off,i lived in OSLO for 20 years,a great place for sure, but everything is ....dear to say the least. Not sure i made the right decision to move back to Cameron and Clegg Land though.Enjoy seeing the Pogues,i saw them last year, memorable!

I don't know my way around Drammen, so I don't know. But I'm 19 and probably won't get in anywhere.

I'll be drinking before and after the show though, I just don't know where yet. My friend might lend me his ID and his glasses. This makes me 23 years.

And Stromboli: right you are! Norway is in the top 5 list of the most expensive countries to live in.

Last year, a few of us met at a pub called Buddy Scene. I think Aslak arranged it last year. Hope to see there again.

I'll meet people somewhere, I'm sure. But I'll be heading for the stage early. I intend to be the guy that's front and center. Like, literally. Haha!
I want to stand right in front of Shane, and then I'll have a great view of all of the band! If I have the time, I'll bring a tape measure and find the exact spot in the middle of the front.

That night will be perfect, I've no doubt! Just spent over an hour watching YouTube videos of the Pogues and got pumped up just by thinking about seeing them in less than a month!

God, I'd love to come to Norway for the concert and the flights are really cheap....
How old do you have to be to get into a pub there?
And how expensive is it to stay in a hostel or so?? If the drinks are so expensive, I can't spend too much on the accommodation...

The general age limit at pubs is 20 in Norway. But I'm 19, I'll bring my safe card though. A friend of mine (who's 23) will probably lend me one of his ID cards, as well as his glasses, which makes me look like him on the picture of the card, which is old and was taken before he grew his beard.
Not sure about the cost of staying at a hostel, but I don't reckon it's too expensive. You've got the right idea though, give priority to the drinks in favour of accommodation.
How old are you? Bet there's a way to get you in if you are under 20.

Living just outside Drammen, please let me know if anybody need any tips.
The concert is, of course sold out, 1300 tickets.
Drammen is 45 min. from Oslo by train. Train app. every 30 minutes.
Union Scene is just 500 meter from the train station.

By the way, are there any pubs near Union Scene? One where people under 20 might get in would be very much to my liking!

There are several pubs around the railway station and around Bragernes square (over the bridge from the railway station).
Early in the evening I dont think there should be any problem regarding your age. After 8PM??? many of the pubs have age restricions and doorman, but then I guess you are heading for Union Scene.

I was there for the Pogues concert last year. Not going this year because i´ve moved from Gothenburg to the south of Sweden.
It was a great venue for a concert and easy to go by train from Oslo, hope you have a good time!!!

I also think that Union Scene is perfect for Pogues concert.
Gives me a mildly "British industries town feeling".
Former industrial sites, newly renovated and located on the riverbank.

Great news! I'll be there very early, leaving by train from Oslo. I'll be sure to go to the pub early enough for me to get in. I'll be leaving early to get in line for the show, though. I intend to be the first in line! I really, really, really want to stand front and center!
As for the location; I think Union Scene is a perfect place for the Pogues to play as well! Might be a little small, in my book there are no band more deserving to play sold-out stadiums than the Pogues! But the atmosphere at Union Scene seems to be top of the notch!
Again, vivavegas; thanks a lot for the information. Are you working at Union Scene?
