I'm there at the 19th as well. Together with a mate. It's his first Pogues concert ever. First time to Britain. First time to London.

We're staying at the St. James' Club and Hotel, which is "7-8 Park Place, St James’s SW1A 1LS London" - wherever that may be. Travel agent told me thats it's near Picadilly Circus and that it is an okay hotel. We will be arriving at Luton airport at around 7 am on the 19th. So we do have quite a bit of time for either sightseeing or going to pubs

for anyone out there who may be interested
a group of lads (Dublin/Essex) are going on a pub crawl "the 12 pubs of Christmas" on Dec 18th starting at Liverpool Street working our way across London & finishing at the Academy, anyone who is interested in coming along just let me know

I'll be at the Canterbury Arms 18 and 19, like i was in 2004,2005,2007 and 2008.

My first jaunt to see the Pogues outside of the North (except Wembley in 87) and despite seeing the Sex Pistols in Brixton I'm not sure of pubs / places to meet with fellow Medeusans, so any help is appreciated. Also any tips on getting there. Staying near Livepool Street station and wondered what the best route is via the tube. Cheers

Central (Red) line to Oxford Circus then change and get the Victoria (blue) line to Brixton should roughly take 30 mins.

come out fo the station do a right walk down to the cross roads do a left there is a pub there called The Canterbury - not sure how many Medusans are going there this year but its always fairly busy,..

Ooops do a right at the crossroads not a left - a left is the academy a right leads you on to popes road then to the pub.

I'll not be there myself but make sure you all have a blaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast !

My wisdom teeth have eased up a bit thanks,.. still need to have them out. There was me thinking I'd actually get some wisdom

When i go to brixton from Liverpool street i allways take the bus, I think No 35 and somemore (33 perhaps) stayes right outside Brixton academy or the stop is called Brixton Police station or you just go to the tube station (next stop) only 3 min walk either way. Takes the same time as the tube, about 30 min. but you get to see at least someting els than someones armpit

Have a balast, Wish i could be ther this year to

BTW, never trust a Londoner on how to get to things, and specially NOT MissWahlshy
