By the way, I can't stand Chris Matthews or his bizarre checked shirts and carpet salesman looking striped tie combos.

Two points very convincingly (and articulately) made. I now question everything I knew about Mr. Romney and Mr. Matthews. Wow.

Mind. Blown.

I like Chis Matthews. He is one of the most common sense guys of all the talking heads.

His deference to President Obama is a tad over the top at times, no?

This is said to be his local in D.C.

Just happened across that info the last time I was heading there and looking for a proper bar.

Matthews and common sense do not belong in the same sentence. Well put Frances, it's hard to hear Matthews at times with his mouth full of BO's junk.

Has the Bush family dog been so deprived of sanitary facilities that it is obliged to resort to television presenters? As the Bushes are likely deaf to any calls to reason, may I suggest the nation sets up a fund. One cent from every American would buy Bo a very well-appointed trash can.

Thanks for the heads up. Matthews certainly steered us in the right direction for a nice dinner in Paris. Just happened to see his review in the Delta magazine on the trip over for the Pogues shows last September and snagged a table one of our last nights in town. We had the same waiter that served Bush's dog.

Interesting that the bar claims to be the place JFK proposed. Booth #1 or something. I stayed at Boston's Omni Parker House recently and they, quite reasonably, beg to differ. Money makes the world...

Presidents from Truman to 42 have visited that bar, Obama hasn't of yet. There's a great picture of a crocked Brian Williams in their gallery.

Leno on Obamacare

Yesterday at the White House, President Obama met with various leaders of the American Indian tribes. He promised them, "If you like your medicine man, you can keep your medicine man.”

Sitting on a bench outside the Botanic Garden, I noticed two Secret Service officers prepping an arrival. Justice Sotomayor was hustled through a side door. With a relative graduating Law School, she holds some major geek cache with us.
