So help me out here. Give me some hope. Give me a straw that I can cling to. What awesome thing is going to be done by this administration that will make up for all of the bad I anticipate?

Ummm..... when you've hit bottom*, you can only go up?

* (Look up, waaaaaaaay up, through your blury tear-stained eyes. That thing you see way up there? That's bottom.)

Thanks buddy. You're totally helping.

I feel I should point our that our maple-syrup stained neighbors to the north aren't above reproach here. Mr. Trump is all about "And I'LL greenlight the Keystone XL pipeline." The company that can't WAIT to offer him blumpy in return? TransCanada based out of Alberta.

If it makes you feel better, our cute young new Liberal Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, ran on many happy shiny promises, including moving Canada's economy away from fossil fuel dependence and towards a sustainable future. He has recently offended a huge number of people who voted for him by approving the Pacific NorthWest LNG pipeline, and we're all upset up here too.

On the plus side, it looks like global warming is gonna speed up. If that happens, the oceans will rise, quickly wiping that limp dick state, Florida, off the map, so it'll never be able to screw up another important election.

Also, i was going to take you to task for stereotyping Canadians as all being maple-syrup guzzling bumpkins, but in fairness the Great Maple Syrup Heist of 2012 was just in the news again 2 days ago, so...

I love Wanda Sykes.
She let some Trump supporters know Saturday night at TD Garden. LOL.

Although the idiots couldn't even draw a proper swastika, although they did spell "Trump" correctly.

I am still waiting for Mike from Boston to give me a ray of sunshine. {i]Something[/i] I can look at that will make me say "well at least THIS thing will be better." MfB? Come on man. Help me out.

So far the ONLY two things I've been able to come up with is:

Trump and his cadre seem enthusiastic, maybe, about NASA. So maybe NASA will finally get some more effective funding.
Trump and his tame racist/fascist Mr. Bannon are swearing they're going to spend $1 trillion (with a "T") on infrastructure. Of course there's zero chance Paul Ryan will let that happen, but ironically the Democrats in the House and Senate might all pull together to push this through. So ... You know ... Stimulus Mark 3!

Beyond that? Things aren't looking good.

Trump? Still picking fights with the press and Broadway on Twitter.
His cabinet? Still in progress but so far it looks like a hellscape.

It's been well-reported at this point that Trump has had trouble getting performers to appear at his inauguration. Well, he finally, at deadline, has confirmed a real live A-list-er.... :D

All these artists with concences that are boycotting the inauguration weren't too concerned when they took millions to play for Gaddafi or the Sudi's. Fucking hypocrites.

I wonder if we were all expecting so much of Obama that no matter how he did, it would feel a let down? As now we're all expecting very little of Trump if he manages to achieve anything noteworthy, will he be seen more favourably in time to come?

Hey, I'm sure Gadaffi paid well. It's well-established that Trump prefers not to pay his people! A-list gotta eat too.

Nah, I reckon he'll be busy today, so it'll probably be tomorrow when someone annoys him on Twitter and he pushes the button. And it all ends...

Oh Christ, where to begin?

An ignorant fascist who gladly used Russia's (and who has every intention of paying Russia back dearly) is going to save us? From what? Please tell me what the failure was exactly.

He is going to do everything he can to: make America an authoritarian state; do what he can to speed up the warming of the planet; throw a wrench in the entire medical industry; start trade wars that will wreck our economy; all while enriching himself.

He is a blatant misogynist and racist, and will never have my support.
