What a mess. The only hope for the Canucks is that home ice seems to be a factor in this series. :?
When Luongo has a bad game(s), he doesn't screw around - he has a really bad game. I agree that the Bruins were allowed way too many liberties after the whistle. When your team's down by 3 or 4 goals, and a game 7 is certain - Sedin's not risking anything by letting loose with a solid punch to the face of that pest. Boston just hasn't given them any room to work, and you can see the frustration. Game 7 - bring it on!

BRUINS WIN THE CUP!!!!

Post Thu Jun 16, 2011 4:06 am

Victory!!!!

Another dominating game from Tim Thomas and more amazing play from Marchand and Bergeron. Wow....39 years of heartbreak, knee injuries and too many men on the ice-all end tonight. Plus I think Cdn Steve owes me a pint :D ( I will try to be a gracious winner-it was good to see Kesler playing well tonight, he's a helluva player)

Best comment on CBC radio during the riot: "Send Tim Thomas out there, he's stopped everything else in the past two weeks".

We've been saying that since '94 at least.... In this case, the Canucks just didn't have a solution for Chara and Thomas. The Sedins were held off the scoreboard, that, combined with injuries to the back end, made it an uphill battle, for sure.
Congrats to Boston! glad to see Marchand will be bringing the Cup back to Halifax this summer.

I watched some really scary stuff on YouTube (A short Film by Reid Gower one of the best). There definitely seemed to be some young men with full backpacks and facemasks ready to use the Cup final as an excuse to do some real damage, to be honest CDN Steve, they are way beyond the point of community service.
(That may work for the drunken idiots, but the ones who came prepared with fuel and bandanas need to be dealt with way more harshly. To me, it did seem the Police weren't prepared or properly deployed. I feel really bad for Vancouver

Update-It seems like there has been a tremendous backlash against the rioters. The poster child appears to be Nathan Kotylak, a member of Canada's Junior National Water Polo Team. He was pictured trying to blow up a police car. Lesson-Don't do something stupid in broad daylight when surrounded by thousands of people with cell phones (w/cameras).

Maybe you will be able to go a the Bruins Parade in Germany. Dennis Seidenberg is only the second German to win the Cup. His hometown is Villingen-Schwenningen, only 8 hours from Kiel (thanks Google Maps!) :D

Haven't dropped by in a while, but just wanted to say congrats to Mike (even if you are dredging up the '74-'75 Caps...). Great series, and the Bruins deserved every inch of it. Can't imagine what Rome was thinking in Game 3. That hit changed everything.

Hopefully the rest of the Caps aside from AO was watching and learned something. I want to know what a Cup winning season is like.
I like this bad set and I like getting drunk at luncheon.
