Very interesting game developing FH, and two Glamorgan youngsters did well with the bat.
Cheers

Youngest ever first-class centurion for Glam, I understand. Well done him.

A touch of promotion jitters for Essex today...

Thanks, yes, at last! After a few years of near misses. Change of coach seems to have done the trick. They'll need to strengthen the squad if they're not going to come straight back down too. Two key players retiring at the end of this season...

Good feeling when your team does it at last. Looks like a good final few hours as well FH, Essex chasing 147, with 7 wickets in hand.....switch on the radio.
Cheers

This match could still go either way - good competitive game by the sound of it.

Only wish I'd been able to be there yesterday. Remember sneaking a day off work to go to Chelmsford to see Essex clinch the CC 20+ years ago. The match ran on longer than expected, so I had to sneak the next day off too.

Well looks like it was a cracking final day FH, with Glamorgan taking it by a whisker.
Back in 2004 when Glamorgan won the 1 day league title it was a Bank Holiday Monday, my work had a stand at a local summer fete. I told my line manager that I would be there all day, but I wanted to see Glamorgan being presented with the trophy as I may never see it again. We agreed a compromise, and everybody was happy......there was a burst pipe which seeped sewage into the field where the fair was to be held, and the fair was cancelled. I saw the whole game, Kent knocked 6 off the final ball to win the match, BUT Glamorgan had won the trophy due to other results going their way!

Yes, well done Glam, by all accounts you bowled very well in the 2nd innings.

Good memories, Aled! 8)

Not a bad finish to the season for Glam, though, and you look to have some good young players there. So hopefully a good sign for the next season.

Well there it goes, another cricket season. Since the birth of my son 10 years ago time just keeps going far too quickly!
Glam finish the season with a dramatic loss against Leics ah well.
A winter of rugby, and some football.

It always feels a bit melancholy at the end of a cricket season. And this is the first season I can remember when I haven't actually gone to watch any cricket at all. The lost summer... :(

RIP Max Walker, Aussie all rounder from the 70's,though better known as a pace bowler, often in the shadow of those musical hall legends Lillee and Thomson.Good on yer Maxie!
