what a hammering!

Australia - Wales 29-23
Argentina - Ireland 22-20!
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior
Shove you in the ground
But you'll stick your head back out and shout
"Let's have another round!"

Not to take anything away from SA, but England were just about as poor as expected. Though it wasn't anything approaching their best team. I suspect there will be a few more of the squad clutching their stomachs this week...

Yeah. And crazy to undertake a tour like that one so near to the World Cup and with an injury list the size of England's . . .

Absolutely. And with the clash with the European finals that ruled players from several clubs out of consideration too. I'd guess it was a tour that Ashton inherited rather than chose to undertake.

Same with the Irish. A tour of Argentina just before the World Cup when they are in our group was EXACTLY what we needed. Hence none of the 'first' team have travelled. A little bit pointless except that the fringe players get a last chance to impress.

True. And yet the likely result is, as for England, that the damage to the players' morale is even worse than the physical damage inflicted.

Seen it yesterday evening. Those two groups look really really tough. Leinster got a top seeding as well......

Can't see how the seeding worked out. Those two groups look way tougher than the others. Though Group 2 is a bit tasty too: Ospreys, Gloucester Rugby, Bourgoin, Ulster Rugby.

ITV have got the contract to show the RWC in the UK. They'll be showing a lot of the matches on ITV1, so freely available.

Details of what's on here: http://www.itv.com/Sport/rugbyworldcup/ ... fault.html

I hear they're getting some help from the Sky commentary team.

I was just reading this. It should be ok as long as he is fit for the games against France and Argentina.

Aye, it doesn't seem to be as bad as it looked at first. Phew.
But I think there's a case for declaring BO'D's cheekbones protected as a National Treasure.
