Brilliant weekend for the Irish teams in the H.Cup, pride of place to Connacht for an amazing win in Toulouse.
Patchy results for the English and Welsh teams. But some cracking matches. Still all to play for in most of the pools.

Peter O'Toole was a keen fan of Munster and on more than one occasion was seen in Cardiff watching them play against the Blues.

Rugby has lost one of its biggest fans with the sad passing of Peter O'Toole recently so an article in the press recently about film star hellraisers they mention....
Richard Harris
Peter O'Toole
Ricahrd Burton
Oliver Reed
All were big rugby fans, is there a pattern emerging? On second thoughts maybe we should not be surprised the shenanigans of rugby clubs and tour are stuffs of legend! As to the next generation of famous rugby fans I do know that Tom Cruise watched the Wales v Ireland match in 2012!
Comment as you see fit.

Great losses, all those four. I can imagine any of them getting stuck into a scrum or indulging in a bit of argy-bargy on a rugby pitch. I can't quite picture Tom Cruise doing the same.

At the England-Argentina match at Twickenham this November, about the biggest crowd cheer of the day was when the big screens showed David Beckham and his kids sitting up in the posh seats. Didn't know he had any interest in the game before, but perhaps his kids are fans...

Bit of a story about Tom Cruise, my fishing buddy/fellow rugby nut/best man/closest friend is an art director for a film production company. He was involved in a film shoot somewhere and was off to watch the match (with an Irishman and a Scotsman) and drink some beer after filiming....Tom Cruise tagged along!
Richard Burton played club rugby, i have some Welsh language writings of his, where he mentions playing locally.

Good story.

Harris, Burton, O'Toole sounds like it could've been a terrific back row. Reed in the front row, if they could ever get him on the pitch!

I think we're very distantly related to Richard Harris, through one of his marriages. Though a lot of complicated family stuff is involved.

Ahhh Burton played wing or centre, however he loved the crash tackle so an easy convert....

True. And Harris played a back in This Sporting Life, I think, though in RL, of course.

So perhaps Burton and Harris as centres. O'Toole I can imagine at full back.

With Reed part of the dark deeds in the scrum...

I like it FH. Tom Cruise would be the Shane Williams type of player on the left wing....

Be fun to put together a XV of acting hellraisers.

I think Russell Crowe used to play in NZ. And I believe Gérard Depardieu may have done in France. A couple of hard men in the pack.

Anyway, just found out we have tickets for the England-Ireland 6 Nations match. Great Christmas present!

Happy Christmas, rugby people all!
