Is it acceptable to be a Villa fan for the day?

It certainly is. A mate of mine has travelled over and he's a life long Villa fan (grew up living in the shadow of spaghetti junction).

How's the new stadium? I used to live not too far away on Broadway on the border of New Moston and Chadderton.
Would like to go next time I'm back.

It's fabulous. It adds to the increasingly weird mix of architectural styles in the north of the city. The regeneration round wastelands that Citeh have caused is very impressive, the space age GMP headquarters on Northampton Road. Still some grim estates too, though the gentrification of Ancoats is John Cooper Clarke's Beasley Boulevard writ large!

".........TELL THE BARCELONA FOOTBALL CLUB TO DROP QATAR AIRWAYS AS A SPONSOR UNTIL IT TREATS WORKERS FAIRLY!

The women who work for Qatar Airways face an extremely grim reality: cabin crew are being exploited, imprisoned without charge, forcibly confined on company premises and automatically sacked if they become pregnant. These abuses are an everyday event not only in Qatar Airlines but in the Qatari national employment system.

Right now, Qatar Airways sponsors one of the most famous football clubs, the Barcelona Football Club. Barcelona’s millions of fans see the team as “more than a club”, revered not only for the quality of its players -- like Neymar, Andrés Iniesta and of course, Lionel Messi -- but for its allegiance to ethics, fairness and social justice. That's why we're asking the world’s most respected football club to cut ties with the airline until workers conditions improve.

Please sign my petition asking the Barcelona Football Club to drop Qatar Airways as a sponsor until worker's conditions improve!........................"

".............This is sad not just because it’s sad but also because once FC Barcelona were holdouts against footballing sponsorship. Their shirts bore only the logo of Unicef. All that changed in 2010 when they accepted this current deal, worth €150m. Still sadder is the Qatar association – the country set to host the 2022 World Cup in domestic-season-destroying November amid suspicions of corruption and staggering loss of life among construction workers. Nike turned Brazil into a team people enjoyed seeing get beaten; could the same happen to Barcelona?............"quote

".............ITUC appeal to FC Barcelona voting members to end Qatar Airways sponsorship"...........
The ITUC has called on FC Barcelona “socios” (voting members) and fans to end the club’s Qatar Airways sponsorship, saying that the airline is the very worst sponsor for a club with a 100-year tradition of democracy and universality............."http://en.mercopress.com/2015/07/04/ituc-appeal-to-fc-barcelona-voting-members-to-end-qatar-airways-sponsorship

Yes, in my dreams I come to the game at your ground, meet up with you for a nice civilised cup of tea! In reality the journey would fuck me up to the extent i'd need to lie down for an hour! :(
