Did anyone else know that Grimsby Town hold the record for attendance at Old Trafford? In a game against Wolves.

Today's match against York is cancelled and so I am reading about Grimsby instead of watching Grimsby.

The only thing more frustrating than a match postponed because of the weather is a match postponed because of the weather when you've already bought your ticket and are at the ground. [Actually, there are probably many things in life more frustrating than that, but you know what I mean.]

Weird the paranoia that seems to have taken control of Dalglish too.

To be honest I have been to at least one match when the the chant was "Call It Off ..Call It Off.. Call It .. Off." As well as " Its fu#king freezing and I want to go home ..Its fu#king freezing and I want to go home ..Its fu#king freezing and I want to go home ."

To be fair, that is entirely true. I've been there too..

The sentiment was partly in sympathy with the French and Irish rugby fans assembled in a freezing stadium when the authorities decided to cancel the match on Saturday evening about 5 minutes before kick-off. When it should've been obvious several days earlier to anyone with any sense that the pitch would be unplayable. Inexcusable. And a waste of a lot of money for a lot of people.

And the poor things, I suppose, were left with nothing to do except hit the bars of Paris on a Saturday night. Hey ho.

Republic of Ireland's road to Poland gets rockier as 'official' songs compete

Singer Shane MacGowan will go head to head with a supergroup made up of Bressie, Danny O'Reilly, Damien Dempsey and The Dubliners this summer with a rival version of folk song 'The Rocky Road To Dublin'.

I want to hear Shane and Jedward performing together now. That would be a group to remember.
