I think Sir Alex summed up the situation very well. It's an absolute disgrace that there appears to be consideration of sacking Wenger. What he has achieved in the financial context of Arsenal is absolutely superb. He's kept buying players at low fees and has sold them on for fantastic profits, and hardly any of them have ever gone on to do anything anywhere else.

However, 8-2 is a decent result. Thought we could have had more though. :D

String vest, rolled up pants, knotted hanky on his head and a deck chair. Could he get scruffier?

As I did not actually have a kick of the ball myself, I have elected to stay magnanimous and humble in Dublin's great victory.

No thanks to the ungracious RTE radio commentary, which went from "unsurprisingly, all going Kerry's way now, as the clock runs down" to "a draw would be a fair result" to "in the end, only one team could win it, and today, that team is wearing blue" in the space of ten minutes.

Though I've often wondered about the legitimacy of such a goal, I had always supposed it would fall foul of some arcane sub-paragraph of the Offside Rule. Clearly not.

Think that keeper will think twice before leaveing his own half again.
Off side in your own half ? Ball came of a defender? Guess you need a county or arsenal fan to explan.

I think it could well have been given off side before the defender heads it out .The front man is clearly the man the long ball is intended for and is active in play and can not count as not intervering with play. Without a lineman view runing the line [even with grass cuttings line] hard to see if defender is behind him or not and the keeper is still running back like mad.The assistant [linesman]fails to raise his flag at this point so guess he must have been on from his view point when that ball is played. After this point the attacker slows down his run puts his head down and takes a non active roll makeing his way back.No longer in active roll. The ball is then played out by the defender and the goal scorer is in his own half so off side no longer applies .
I find Baby line goal or long grass cutter goals much more enjoying than headers any day.Never could head that well.
Bet that keeper does not get a few notes in his boots for a while.

Does the one ball rule not apply in this game .Looks to be a second ball at the side of goal. The old Multi Ball System made for a much quicker and entertaining game.Allways good to see a ball boy get a chant for playing up.
