Sadly it was the luck of an old French man that won on the night.
My heart says Ireland can still do it , but my head says they are just not good enough this time round.

christ almighty went to the Ireland v France match last night and by Jesus it was brutal. Can believe they lost but had fingers and toes crossed that they wouldn't!!. Poxy deflection too - load of bloody b*llicks!!. Robby Keane - whingebag - slow and was doing so much fucken arm flapping he nearly flew out of the stadium - tosser!. France where crap too but just a little better. Not looking good for wednesday night!! World cup dreams almost gone bar a miracle!! Still the lads came back out to do a lap of honour - as it was probably the last time a match will be played at Croke park. New stadium meant to be ready for the next season of matches etc. Still I'll wear me olde green gersey with pride - still hopeful of a victory on wednesday - come on the boys in green!

It doesn't look very good. That deflecting goal was heartbreaking. There's still a little little chance, but to win in France is a huge task.

COME ON YOU BOYS IN GREEN :!:

Are you telling us, as gently as you can, that Ireland are out of the 2010 World Cup?

I'm afraid he is.

Eamon Dunphy: "Henry should feel some shame".

We march on Calais at dawn.

I'd post the link for RTE Sports, but apparently Medusa's electronic bouncer has adjudged it "junk".

Yes when Henry decided he rather play handball then football 1-1 after 120 minutes. The France goal came like this first offside then Henry touch the ball with his hand not once but 2 times. Well atlest Platini sleeps well tonight

Heartbreaking....

And a shame on Henry and Anelka too. Ireland absolutely deserved to get that world cup spot :!:

And 'twas so reminiscent of just the kind of thing that M. Wenger would "not have seen" in Henry's Arsenal days. Ah well.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.
