And especialy such a great time like Feyenoord gets kicked out. Most of them are the best supporters you can get in Holland. They wil ALWAYS support their team

Well, in 1985 ALL english teams were banned from all european tournaments for a couple of years after the tragedy of Heysel Stadium.

Yeah, but just look at the minimum punishment that the turkish squad got after what their "supporters" did during and after the return game against Switzerland in the World Cup Qualification.

Or during the World Cup 1998 when german hooligans were let loose and nearly beat a french policeman to death. Nothing happened to the squad or the german football association as far as I can remember.

That´s why I agree with you that Feyenoord´s punishment is indeed too heavy.

But what do you think would be an adequat solution ? I have no definite answer.

Harder punishments for these so-called fans. In England it is rather under control. Here they just come in, fans of the opposite team get in our stadium because they bought cheap tickets a carsalesman sold

I think the fans should be punished, not the team. Honestly, there's only so much the team can do to prevent that sort of stuff. I think Eufa are a bunch of bokkelullen for doing this, and they should stop targeting the teams. They're doing the same thing to Rangers because the fans sing a few Protestant songs. I think it's gotten out of hand the way they're punishing the team and not fans.

Its difficult to get the balance right. Don't forget that the police are as incompetent when dealing with football fans as they are in with everything else. In some cases more so, as who wants to stand up for football fans ?

This weekend all Cardiff fans were banned from watching their game at Wolves because of some disturbances last season. Apparently the old bill piled into the Cardiff fans trying to get a drink at half time, and - heaven forbid - the Cardiff fans stood up for themselves. So to cover up their incompetence the police put the blame 100% on the fans (Cardiff have a reputation anyway, so it was easy to make it stick), and the ban was supported by the FA etc.
The sum total of the original game with 'all the trouble' - 1 conviction for a fan who threw a pie.

These days in England you are likely to get a banning order for nothing, and being a football fan in front of a court means you are guilty already in the eyes of the court.
