Not for long, it turns out!

Anyhow, there are certain places that I never want sandpaper anywhere near. Sandpaperballs.

So another county season has started... close-fought win for Essex against Lancs in their first home match after the Yorkshire pitch was so waterlogged that not a ball was bowled in what should have been their first game of the championship season (cue many conspiracy theories among Essex fans). Looks like Glam have the chance of a win today too.

Good luck all.

Good luck to Glamorgan, as a wee boy growing up in North Shields, our next door neighbours were originally from Briton Ferry, and their passion for Welsh cricket kind of rubbed off on me.So much so my favourite all time cricketers pre Viv and 'Both'[Richards and Botham] were Rodney Ontong,Tony Cordle and Ossie Wheatley.Total legends who i saw play against Yorkshire several times, i had my photo taken with Sir Rodney and batting great Alan Jones.Of course Viv Richards played for Glamorgan towards the end of his career,it was his destiny! Happy days.

Apologies for lack of visits all.
Nice one Toonboy. My beloved Glammy are not doing to well at the moment sadly, great Glamorgan legends mentioned above of course. Your man Sir Viv along with Elliot, Kapsorvick, and Waquir will forever be regarded as adopted Welshmen. Kasper always claimed that one of the biggest compliments he ever received was when the Glamorgan faithful started singing "Kasper is a Welshman Kasper is a Welshman tra la la la"...I know it happened because...I was there.

You can tell you're getting very old when players that you remember in their teens go and announce their retirement. Well played, Chef.

Never seen anything quite like it in all my many years of cricket watching. I suppose because there never has been anything quite like it. Cracking match too. Well done to them.

Apologies for the lack of activity: Congratulations Essex on a their success this year. FH you must be pleased. Glamorgan didn't seem to get anywhere, seems to be the norm these days.

Cheers Aled. I don't think anyone (even in Essex) really expected Essex to win the CC this year, not to mention the T20.
