Two from the Close Lobsters. They have a knack for telling the truth in the most unexpected ways.

Mother of God
--------------------
Never... to repeat those words!
Never... to repeat those words!

I am the lonely man of lonely men
I am the young man
Deader man sort of
All sorts he said
Sort of

A soul bled at the shore head
I am the young destroyer of world
A heart beat thing stigmatic at Easter
And who spoke to me in blue flashes of lightning
Dynamically
Definitely something

Sold you right down the sounds of spring
I am transfixed through the clouds
Passing through an eye of black spawn

Now to embrace the plague of everyday
Now to embrace the plague of everyday
And it was never really like that
It was never really like that
It was never really like that
Never really like that

And right now, everyone I know is sick
Right now, everyone I know is sick
And who spoke to me in blue flashes of lightning
Dynamically
Definitely something

Dull
Dull
Dull
We are democratic cavemen

Never... to repeat those words!
Mother of God!

From This Day On
------------------------
From this day on
The spectre haunting Europe will be gone
From this day on

From this day on
The crooked cross of the south will reign
From this day on

There never was a better man than Jack
In banana republic UK everything's up for grabs
Get me home
Get me home

From this day on
Totally zonked out is the norm
From this day on

From this day on
You can buy shares in layers of ozone
From this day on

There never was a leaner time for brains
In banana republic it's best to undercut your friends
Get me home
Get me home
Get off me
Get me home

There never was a better man than Jack
In banana republic UK everything's up for grabs
Get me home
Get me home
Get off me
Get me home

And thank God for the Last Poets, there to school the fools who need to be schooled like me. I mean that literally, not in hiphop speak. Two favorites here....

True Blues
----------------
True blues ain't no new news about who's been abused
For the blues is as old as my stolen soul
I sang the blues when the missionaries came
Passing out bibles in Jesus' name
I sang the blues in the hull of the ship
Beneath the sting of the slavemaster's whip
I sang the blues when the ship anchored the dock
My family being sold on a slave block
I sang the blues being torn from my first born
And hung my head and cried when my wife took his life
And then committed suicide.
I sang the blues on the slavemaster's plantation
Helping him build his free nation
I sang the blues in the cottonfield, hustlin' to make the daily yield
I sang the blues when he forced my woman to beg
Lord knows how I wished he was dead
I sang the blues on the run, ducking the dogs and dodging the gun
I sang the blues hanging from the tree in a desperate attempt to break free
I sang the blues when the sun went down, cursing the master when he wasn't around
I sang the blues in all these wars dying for some unknown cause
I sang the blues in a high tone, low moan, loud groan, soft grunt, hard funk
I sang the blues in land sea and air, about who when why and where
I sang the blues in church on sunday, slaving on monday, misused on tuesday, abused on wednesday, accused on thursday, fried alive on friday, and died on saturday.
Sho nuff singing the blues
I sang the blues in the summer, fall winter and spring
I know sho nuff the blues is my thing
I sang the backwater blues, rhythm and blues, gospel blues, saint louis blues, crosstown blues, chicago blues, mississippi GODDAMN blues, the watts blues, the harlem blues, hoe blues, gut-bucket blues, funky chunky blues, i sang the up north cigarette corp blues, the down south sprung out the side of my mouth blues,
I sang the blues black, i sang the blues blacker, i sang the blues blackest
I SANG BOUT MY SHO NUFF BLUE BLACKNESS!

Mean Machine
----------------------
Automatic push-button remote control
Synthetic genetics command your soul
Automatic push-button remote control
Synthetic genetics command your soul

Driving me nuts, bolts, screws
I got the blues from paying dues
For programmed news of honeycoated lies
Your eyes can't believe
That weave the Devil's magic with the latest gadget
From the Mean Machine
A'running the Same Game with Another Name
Down to your brain, blowing your mind
Stealing your time, smooth and slick
With the latest trick to get rich quick
From nonsense at your mind's expense
As your mind digs the scene
From the Mean Machine
Designed to drive your brain insane
Loudspeakers blasting inside your head
Saying what someone else said
For you to do what they want you to
No. Go. Fast. Slow.
Getting you high off the latest lie
Telling you when, where, how and why
As your mind digs the scene
From the Mean Machine,
A'running the Same Game with Another Name
Factories of insanity playing on your vanity
As they distort your sense of self
Telling you what you need and how to succeed
As they steal all of your wealth
Probing your mind, trying to find
How to scheme on you best
From programmed schools with Devilish rules
Putting you to the test
Death dealing devices sold at high prices
Designed with you in mind to buy
As they kill you slow and some of y'all don't even know
Y'all paying the Machine to die
Mechanized lies dressed up in disguise
In forms of various kinds
Treachery and deceit the people must defeat
In the battle for free men's minds
For complete domination is the goal of this nation
Of all free thinking thought
And those who oppose will be killed by their foes
The flunkies whose souls have been bought
Transplants to revive the living dead
Replacing the truth with lies instead
Newspapers, radios, TVs
Spreading lies across the seven seas
Robot men with computers for brains
Space ships, cars, trains and planes
All calculated to blow your mind
Moving faster than your sense of time
Living luxuriously soft while the people slave hard
For the Devil would have you believe he is God
Chemical drugs that keep you high
While the Mean Machine creates another lie
For power and glory and world wide fame
While Running the Same Game with Another Name
It's the computer's equation for world wide invasion
That comes in the name of peace and goodwill
But all of them are lying as they keep on trying
To set the people up for the kill
Population control of the people with soul
All over the planet Earth.
Manipulating their will with a tiny white pill
To control their natural birth
Behind the scene schemes furthering the Mean Machine's
Dreams
Of conquest and world domination
From the farthest depths of the universe
To the smallest earthly nation
Radar, Sonar, Laser beams!
Jets, Tanks, Submarines!
Megathons, H-Bombs, Napalm, Gas!
All this shit will kill you fast
All products of the Mean Machine
The Devil disguised as a human being
And he will even preach that God is dead
And some of y'all will believe what the Devil has said
And he will then act as the world's police
And the sun will rise up in the West
And set down in the East
And when it came time to the end...
And when it came time to the end...
And when it came time to the end...
The men will look like the women
And the women like the men
And some will dance in a hypnotic trance
Like as if they have no care
But these will be signs of the changing times
That the end is drawing near
For it was prophesized many centuries past
That the end will come in a fiery holocaust
And only the righteous people will survive the blast
And the Devil's machine will bring about its own end
And peace, love and joy will reign once again
And man will understand man
And man will understand man
And man will understand man
And man will understand man
And man will understand man
And man will understand
And live in harmony and peace
And the sun will once again
Rise up in the East

Words that aren't as mysterious as they first seem about defying authority to find a better way of being.

Love My Way by the Psychedelic Furs
-----------------------
There's an army on the dance floor
It's a fashion with a gun, my love
In a room without a door
A kiss is not enough in...

Love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes

They'd put us on a railroad
They'd dearly make us pay
For laughing in their faces and making it our way
There's emptiness behind their eyes,
There's dust in all their hearts
They just want to steal us all and take us all apart
But not in...

Love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes
Love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes

Love my way, it's a new road
I follow where my mind goes

So swallow all your tears, my love
And put on your new face
You can never win or lose if you don't run the race

This song always gets to me. My favorite from both Joy Division and New Order, with Ian switching back and forth from his perspective to what seems to be God's perspective.

Ceremony by Joy Division or New Order
----------
This is why events unnerve me
They find it all, a different story
Notice whom for wheels are turning
Turn again and turn towards this time
All she asks is the strength to hold me
Then again the same old story
Word will travel, oh so quickly
Travel first and lean towards this time

Oh, I'll break them all, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time
Watching her, these things she said
The times she cried
Too frail to wake this time

Oh I'll break them down, no mercy shown
Heaven knows, it's got to be this time
Avenues all lined with trees
Picture me and then you start watching
Watching forever
Forever
Watching love grow,
Forever
Letting me know
Forever...

A different kind of downtown adventure tale as only Jeru the Damaja can tell it...

You Can't Stop the Prophet
-------------------------------------------
I... leap over lies in a single bound (Who are you?)
The Black Prophet
One day I got struck by Knowledge of Self
It gave me super-scientifical powers
Now I... run through the ghetto
Battlin' my arch nemesis Mr. Ignorance
He's been tryin' to take me out since the days of my youth
He feared this day would come
I'm hot on his trail, but sometimes he slips away
Because he has an army, they always give me trouble
Mainly - Hatred, Jealousy and Envy... they attack me
They think they got me
But I use my super-science and I twist all three
I see sparks over that building - they're shootin' at me
I dip, do a backflip
Then hit 'em in the heart with sharp steel bookmarks
Ignorance hates when I drop it
But no matter what he do... he can't stop the Prophet

Yo Prophet, yo Prophet, come here real quick
Yo I just saw Ignorance downtown, let me put you on

Word, he down there buggin'
He got them illin' out, they shootin' and everything else..

Let's continue the saga... mad mad drama
I met this chick, she said she knew where Ignorance was at
I said, "Where?"
She said, "Downtown"
He had babies havin' babies - and young niggaz sellin' crack
I think the bitch is lyin,' it's a setup
I can smell it, but Ignorance is runnin' rampant
Aight baby show me the exact spot
Meet me at Hoyt and Schermerhorn at 3 on the dot
So I hops up on the A-Train, I'm bein' followed
My seventh sense senses danger
I turn around, it's Anger
And he brought a mob along, it's the same old song
Despair and Animosity got broke with the swiftness
I don't know what they think this is
I feel a sharp pain in my neck
Now I can't see, I'm like Hiram
They hit me with the dart filled with the pork chop serum
I tried to hold on but before long I dropped
When I awoke I was locked in the barber's shop
Trapped in the barber's chair
Oh no, they're gonna try and cut my hair
But that can't stop the Prophet

Yo Prophet!
Ignorance is tired of you followin' him around
We about to put an end to that RIGHT NOW
Animosity (YEA!) Despair (YO WHASSUP?) Get him!!

A few minutes passed by, I hear a buzzin' noise
It was that chick with some of Ignorance's boys
She said, "Prophet, we got you beat;
By the way I'm Mr. Ignorance's wife, Deceit
But enough talk; now for your haircut
When the clippers touched my hair, they blew the fuck up
After the explosion there was no one left
Cause I know Dim Mak/poison hand/touch of death
My vision's still kinda blurry, but I see a clue
Ignorance is at the library
I hurry, with lightning speed like The Flash
He's at the big one... on Grand, Army Plaz'
When I get inside... the doors shut and the lights go off
Damn, another trap
I hear a hissin' sound, I smell a funny smell
I gasp, I can't breathe
Ignorance is laughin' at me
Waitin' on my downfall...
But he can't stop the Prophet

I'm not sure what you're doing since you're the one who said to put him on my ignore list. Anyway, why would I even believe him since that song is basically a long list of what you guys refer to as "conspiracy theories"? And he posted that on April Fool's Day, so what else should I think?

An eerie story from Phil Ochs about a girl who died in the midst of the Lincoln Park protests in Chicago in 1968. The strange title seems to suggest that he thinks the late W.B. Yeats was somehow responsible. :?:

William Butler Yeats Visits Lincoln Park And Escapes Unscathed
-------------------------------------------------------
As I went out one evening to take the evening air
I was blessed by a blood-red moon
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning
I spied a fair young maiden and a flame was in her eyes
And on her face lay the steel blue skies
Of Lincoln Park, the dark was turning
Turning

They spread their sheets upon the ground just like a wandering tribe
And the wise men walked in their Robespierre robes
Through Lincoln Park the dark was turning
The towers trapped and trembling, and the boats were tossed about
When the fog rolled in and the gas rolled out
From Lincoln Park the dark was turning
Turning

Like wild horses freed at last we took the streets of wine
But I searched in vain for she stayed behind
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning
I'll go back to the city where I can be alone
And tell my friend she lies in stone
In Lincoln Park the dark was turning

The best four-man serenade ever put to record...

Float On by the Floaters
-----------
Aquarius
And my name is Ralph
Now I like a woman who loves her freedom
And I like a woman who can hold her own
And if you fit that description, baby, come with me...
Take my hand, come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing love with me, I want you to...

Float, float on (Come on, come on, come on, come on, float on yeah)
Float on, float on (Ooh, ooh, baby)
Float, float, float on
Float on (Float with me), float on

Libra
And my name is Charles
Now I like a woman that's quiet
A woman who carries herself like Miss Universe....
Mmm take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing lovin'' with me...

Float, float on (Girl, yes)
Float on, float on (with Charles)
Float, float, float on (Ooh, yeah)
Float on, float on

Leo
And my name is Paul
You see I like all women of the world
And if you understand what I'm sayin'
I want you to.....
Mmm take my hand
Come with me, baby, to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing love with me, I want you to...

Float, float on (So float with me, baby)
Float on, float on (Yeah)
Float, float, float on (Float with Paul, y'all)
Float on, float on

Cancer
And my name is Larry
And I like a woman that loves everything and everybody
And you know what, ladies, if you feel that this is you
Then this is what I want you to do...
Ooh, yeah, take my hand
Let me take you to Love Land
Let me show you how sweet it could be
Sharing your love with Larry, listen...

Float, float on (You better float with me now)
Float on, float on (Float on)
Float, float, float on (Yeah, yeah)
(You better float on)
(Float on)
(Ah)

What I was doing was being foolish enough to think that you might like to know that someone you consider to be hostile toward you had something positive to say. I was wrong. My bad.

Let me paraphrase what I said. Why should I believe him when that song is exactly the kind of thing that he was hostile about in the first place? It's jam-packed full of what you guys like to call "conspiracy theories." Not only that, it ends with an apocalyptic doomsday prophecy.
