I'm thinking about getting a cross like this one on my lower arm, although without the wording on it. Comments?

My family is from Co. Armagh so I have also thought about getting a Primate's Cross. I think they are cool looking. That being said you shouldnt get one because I want mine to be unique or as unique as possible.

I shouldn't get a Primate's Cross or the Orthodox one I linked to?

Pogues tattoos, anyone?

Post Sat Dec 22, 2007 8:41 pm

Allright, time for tattoo discussion, innit?
I already have a Dropkick Murphys tattoo on my arm, the skeleton playing the bagpipe, and I'm planning to develop it further, background and so on, and I was thinking of someting Pogues-ish, and I'm looking for some inspiration.

Does anyone here have The Pogues tattooes, or Pogues related ones?

Went to see the Pogues in Seattle in October, and it was really cool because it was the first time I was able to get my older sister to come out and see them with me, along with another friend of ours who loves the pogues. Anyways, we decided spontaneously to get tattoos to symbolize our trip and the pogues and our friendship. So the night before we stayed up trying to figure something out pogues related. We thought of various lyrics/imagery that we liked. Eventually i thought of getting five green bottles, sitting on the floor, with that lyric above it. We didn't have a lot of money or time (simple 1hr tattoo each) but eventually we figured an anchor. We all love anchors, and the place was called Anchor Tattoo, and anchors are pogues-related. So we all got unique variations of the same bone-style anchor. Mine is simple, a little black shading behind it, and a little green coloring. It's actually somehow got a real western feel to how it looks. I love it, right on the back of my neck. The only bitch about it is I never get to look at it :'( haha.

I'd like to eventually have tattoos relating to all my favorite musicians, which would include The Pogues, Luke Kelly, Johnny Cash, and Hank Williams.

Funny, I was at the Seattle shows and couldn't believe how many folks had their tats on display. More so here than in NY or SF. It really showed how trendy Seattle can be sometimes since the whole pycho-billy scene is the flavor of the month.

Saying that, I'm getting an octopus holding an anchor tattoo hopefully soon!!

Just got my Pogues PM symbol thing today. I would share a picture but I forgot the lead to transfer photos from my camera to my computer. I got it on my right wrist just below the anchor in the image above. I also got the Street Dogs chevron and star logo thing on my upper shoulder. Thanks again Johan for the PM image.

I hope you can see this picture as it must be one of the best full body tattoos around: a sixteenth century Celtic woman covered in flowers:

Here's my friend Nik. This picture is more than a year old, he's had more work done since:
