I think that a shamrock would symbolise the Pogues well enough. Any ideas for other symbols for the Pogues?

the PM (Pogue Mahone) ?

Got it done on the lobe, It's healing just fine, thanks for asking, I have to leave the sud in for 6-weeks which is a bit of shitty, because to want a hoope in, they gave me antiseptic to be rubbed on twice a day, went out partying last night it got a bit yanked around by my mates, taking the piss, but other then that it's just a little tender.

definetly let it heal correctly...

i got my ear pierced in 1991. took it out in 1993....

a few weeks ago, out of curiosity...i tried to put an earring back in. and it slid right in, no problem. 12 years of not wearing one, and the hole is still in perfect condition.

tattoo

Post Sun Jun 05, 2005 9:49 pm

My friend had a tattoo on his forearm. It was sort of like the face of a leprachon or imp, playing the flute. He said it was from inside one of the Pogues album cover. He has since passed, and i was wondering if anyone knew which album its from and if there is anywhere i could find that picture on the web

I have a poster of a scene, that has a 100 or so illustrations in it that mean various sayings - like 'You'd lose your head if it wasn't screwed on' and its a head with a screw type neck cast upon the floor.

You could do something like that on your tattoo.
"Arms and legs of other men are scattered all around"
"The captains corpse jumped up and threw his arms around my neck"
"Ghosts still haunt the waves and a torch lights up a famished man"
"As he pulls of the dolls head laughing"

How cool would a Pogues poster like that be. Especially if they didn't list out the song references. Hours of fun!

I am thinking about getting my first tattoo. It's still a toss up between words or pictures. I have come up with the Gaelic word "cuimhne" which means rememberence/ in memory. I am getting it because of a close family member who has passed. Which brings me to my question, people who live in Ireland, please help me out. I'm not that savvy in my Gaelic over here(the states) Is that the actuall Gaelic word for 'rememberence/ in memory'? Any help will be welcomed.

When I asked about this I was told that Irish Gaelic for "in memory" is "Larry."

Let me tell you, that tattoo takes a bit of explaining.

What is the difference between the two? So going with cuimhne will work out for me then?
